For some reason it just hit that it's THIS Friday. Dear God help me :D

I have 1000 things to do! It's like in a few days. OMG

Does this happen to anyone else?

I triage my list and hope to get as much done as possible. On halloween morning I throw the list away and enjoy our special day and try to look at what we have done and not think about what was not done. I have come to the conclusion that it will be what it is.

I will be glad when it is Thursday!
sort of, but this is why i started putting up the spiders web few days ago as can only do so much at once as recently had knee surgery. plus i have jellies and vodka jellies to make as well as normal food to cook, a house to tidy as have people staying!
I am not gonna panic this year, I am off Thurs, and Friday. I am not gonna let the weather get me down, or any thing else that doesn't go perfect. Lower expectations create more enjoyment. Happy Haunting to all my fellow HalloweenForum members and Haunters.

The panic is over for me. We had our party last night so everything had to be done last Friday. Now it's all ready to just enjoy for the next 5 days. What gets done is done and what doesn't only you will know.

We got our outside display done early. I was feeling confident. THEN all four of us got the flu. I 'was' panicking last week, because there was no way I was getting my inside decor done. I freaked out for one day, and then decided... Just let it go.
There is always next year. :)
The funny thing is I had the BEST relaxing weekend enjoying all the Halloween activities.
It is strange because we are heading people off at the front door. It's a disaster in here. LOL At least I stopped panicking about being ready.
Now I have more time to panic about the weather. ;)

Good luck to everyone! Happy Halloween!

you know what hilda, you may actually enjoy this week more...i got sick last oct, seems end of sept is that time to dodge germs and there was no way i could put up our maze, i tried for the front yard and porch and just couldnt do it, day before halloween dragged it all back to the garage and storage. then i did somthing i NEVER thought id do.................we dressed up and went out and had a BALL, won a contest, had a big time.....left candy on the porch, thats a cardinal sin in my book and i didnt care...it rained some and i heard we had like 28 kids that made it toting........ im not sure how much i am going to actually throw down this year either...i cant do the maze anymore...just cant physically do it do i guess i am weaning off that to some other halloween "fixes"...not totally missing that stress
hope you feel better.

Only YOU know what you didn't get done. My plans called for all kinds of other parts to the display, but nobody knows the difference. Lots of people are coming by and enjoying what is out there. So, I am happy. Not going to panic. Thinking of this too...a little bit less to put away after Halloween is over.

I'm in the same boat. My sons birthday is the 19th and it always throws off my schedule. I'm in birthday mode so long and once it's over I think "oh crap!" I put up all the decorations this weekend, only had a couple disasters. Some minor fixes in the yard tomorrow and I must focus on costumes. None of ours are done yet.

One of the things you should do before the end of tomorrow is sign up for the free quilt give a way. The thread is in General forum and is called Halloween quilt drawing,

This is exactly it.

Most of the people who are members of this forum have so much talent, that even when they can only get part of what they want done for Halloween, it's so far above and beyond what the "typical" household does that everyone who sees it is greatly impressed.

...and above all else, Don't Panic.

My panic was a month ago. I am just adding extras now and my party is now past. I set up my interior decorations Saturday morning and took them down Sunday afternoon (because of my 2 year old ;) )

I think what you said was perfect. I've read so many "I'm not in the mood this year" on here and I think, "What do you want?" It's fall! There are pumpkins! All the higher expectations create stress. The lower expectations create enjoyment. And I'm enjoying the heck our of this holiday. But check with me on Friday, I may feel different. I hope not.
We still need to buy candy and I need more candles for the pumpkins and lanterns and batteries for a couple of the props. Can't get any of that until Thursday morning.
I have a few things left on my to-do list but they are mostly little things here and there because we spent the ENTIRE weekend putting up the majority of our stuff. We actually have two more zombies and all of the inside stuff that hasn't been put up but I'm just going to do a little here and there and then enjoy all of Friday.
Nothing like high winds and having to bring alot of stuff back in to get the panic juices flowing! Save me Great Pumpkin!

Same boat. We had our party Saturday night, so it's like a weight off my back. A few tweaks and we're all set for Halloween night.
I still have to finish the garage, but other than that I'm pretty much finished. I just hope that the weather is decent on Halloween. We've been having some seriously severe wind gusts and rainstorms.
