Does anyone have any suggestions for painting a white plastic bird bath to make it look like stone?

I'm going to make a bloody skull fountain with a white plastic bird bath from Dollar Store, a few hollow plastic skulls and an old water pump from a terrarium.

I was going to try mixing some white latex Dry Lok with grey exterior latex paint.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You'll probably have to first prime it with paint especially for plastic: Rustoleum's paint for plastic or Krylon Fusion, or whoever else makes a plastic paint.

I painted some blowmold figures with Dry-Loc, without priming, and the paint soon flaked off. Recently, I painted some hard plastic heads (which is probably same kind of plastic as your birdbath) and the paint started coming off, so I sprayed first with Rustoleum plastic paint and now the next layers of paint are adhering nicely.

I think if you prime it first, the Dry-Loc will give it a nice stony texture.
