I was just browsing OT's new items for 2015. They have a few new static lifesize figures:

Goth Vampire: http://www.orientaltrading.com/goth-vampire-a2-13703449.fltr?prodCatId=551691 $79

Gothic Vampire Lady: http://www.orientaltrading.com/goth-vampire-lady-a2-13703429.fltr?prodCatId=551691 $79

Standing Blind Girl: http://www.orientaltrading.com/standing-blind-girl-a2-13709679.fltr?prodCatId=551691 $69

(I'd definitely be curious to see home-taken pics of the quality of the above three, especially the "Blind" Girl).

Standing Realistic Zombie: http://www.orientaltrading.com/standing-realistic-zombie-a2-13703426.fltr?prodCatId=551691 $79

Standing Mummy: http://www.orientaltrading.com/standing-mummy-a2-13709676.fltr?prodCatId=551691 $59

Here are a couple of other new items:

Brain Zombie Groundbreaker (looks like he'd be right at home with Larry and Henry from GR): http://www.orientaltrading.com/brain-zombie-groundbreaker-a2-13709689.fltr?prodCatId=551691 $40

Halloween Swamp Creature: http://www.orientaltrading.com/halloween-swamp-creature-a2-13709673.fltr?prodCatId=551691 $59

Animated Gorilla Rug: http://www.orientaltrading.com/halloween-animated-floor-rug-a2-13703402.fltr?prodCatId=551691 $39.99

I'm kinda diggin' that swamp creature.
Thanks for posting all of the new stuff!
I actually like the goth vampire and woman a lot although I wish they didn't add blood to them. Sometimes I think we could do something better and it would also let us repurpose them.

The Standing blind girl I kind of did a double take on. For some reason it surprised me as a subject. I wonder if her bandages could be taken off and what she looks like under them. I'd say she's probably their most disturbing prop.

The ground breaker I could see hanging out with Larry, Henry, and Scully.

Did not get the sound track on the gorilla. A bear rug seemed OK but not warming up to the gorilla.

Interesting new offerings this year. Please if anyone buys, post your photos.

I really like the look of it, but that soundtrack seriously does not fit (I have the feeling that they used the wolf version's:rolleyes:).

Yeah, I think I would cut the cords on that one and see about rigging a foot pad under it or motion sensor for that location that could trigger some other gorillas in the wild type soundtrack to play. Potentially I could see it being used in a jungle scene in the tent of a jungle animal poacher that meets an early death by his previous captive animals who are now loose and not happy (maybe something like the "Zoo" CBS TV show that just started airing...It would be timely....http://www.cbs.com/shows/zoo/). I have a jungle theme with ransacked researcher or treasure hunter's tent on the planning board but could easily go that way. I already have gorilla/ape, lion, panther, snake, monkey costume/props for my circus/carnival acts that I planned on reusing for the jungle theme one so for me not a hard stretch.

Hmm. $39 not so bad I guess. I could also see using a mask and some Joann Fabric gorilla fur to make something like it but I do think the gorilla face on this is perfectly set for the prop and probably couldn't get the right look with a mask because of the way the head tilts. Certainly not for a rug.

I guess I should start paying more attention to the OT emails I receive for discount or free shipping offers.

Here's OT's LED Tree Ghost. Slightly different take on the Haunted Tree face from other stores. Interesting to see how they propose attaching it to the tree and then blending the prop in. http://www.orientaltrading.com/led-tree-ghost-a2-93_875-11-0.fltr?xsaleSku=13703402

His face is kind of goofy which I suppose is better for younger kids.

Forget all that other stuff...I just looked at the ultimate Oriental Trading Company Halloween item. Look on their site under "magic and gags" and you'll find a Jack O'Lantern woopie cushion!

I think you could remove most of the goofy factor by re-painting his teeth. They're too big and bright and square.

So now I'm seriously considering the Gorilla rug. I figured this year I wasn't going to need much (certainly no more decor, kitchen, serving items--pretty much done with that) and wasn't planning on more than one large prop. With Big Lots having the witch again this year, this kind of makes me over my quota!
I really like the female vamp and the blind girl, she is creepy and that swamp monster thing is pretty cool, wish he didn't have those spaghetti things hanging out of his limbs lol but overall look is nice. When I saw the link for the rug I didn't even click on it because gorilla didn't scream Halloween to me but I actually like the looks of it, not bad ! I wish that werewolf rug was a better price like this one.
Got two paper catalogs today!! One Halloween & one party.

They've got some props that other places have only cheaper & some other neat new stuff I haven't seen elsewhere but not sure on the price. They have some higher end stuff online too & ton of cool party stuff, some of it on sale too. Most of these are under $100 too if not way cheaper.

Haven't seen this one anywhere else, Standing Blind Girl $69:

This guy with a hilarious name, Standing Realistic Zombie (like zombie are real enough to be unrealistic!) $79:

Goth Vampire $79

His mate, Goth Vampire Lady $79

Brain Zombie Groundbreaker $40

My favourite thing about all of those props is that they don't make noise, their eyes flash. While not a fave thing on props, I prefer flashing eyes to weird noises & a bad soundtrack with weird noises & moans.

I got the Halloween Oriental Trading catalog today too! Squee! :D
Truly, I was impressed with their large offerings. I don't view OT as the greatest in quality, nor do I think anyone should. But, I think they offer a great variety of stuff for all types of budgets. I also think they've got a good feel for what the average home haunter might want or need - they are offering some great backdrops for all sorts of themes, like the Asylum Hospital Backdrop Banner, or the Haunted Cemetery Backdrop Bumer, or the Haunted Farmhouse Backdrop Banner (my fave!). They are perfect for an indoor party or even to cover a garage door! And that they are offering some cardboard coffins, tombstones and even cemetery pillars & iron-look sign - I think that's fantastic!

I think the Goth Vampire & Lady that RCIAG posted are really nice. And the Standing Realistic Zombie (hilarious name!) is such a great option for someone who can't or doesn't want to do their own figure but wants something they can add a bit to.

The Flaming Torch Lights for $3.49 each also look awesome for the price - a bit of doctoring with some extra tissue paper or yellow cellophane 'flames' and you've got a fantastic prop for the price!

Also, although Day of the Dead is not my area of interest, I noticed in the catalog that they have some great options that look good - like the Vintage Day of the Dead Statues , Day of the Dead Gummies & Frosted Suckers, Plush Day of the Dead Skulls (like party favors), and some super cute Day of the Dead small metal pails that they show are Exclusive, as well as DOTD Paper Fans & Garland.

I'm definitely planning to order some things and if you don't already get it, I recommend getting your hands on a copy of their Halloween Catalog!!

I looked, but that particular catalog is not an option at the site yet.

Had to laugh when I read this. I have a spirit lifesize static zombie prop and on the outside of the box it says "Looks just like a real Zombie" LOL I am thinking about selling it but that alone is worth keeping it just for a chuckle every Halloween.

Like the other zombies are UNrealistic?

I think once you buy stuff from them you'll get every catalog they put out, from their beading to crafting to every holiday to school supplies. I know I get them all & I don't think I requested them. Well, maybe I requested the beading one but not the rest.
Broke down today and ordered the gorilla rug we talked about in this thread along with some black metal spider pins for pumpkin decorating. Got motivated by finding a discount code for $5 off and free ship that saved me about $15 off these two items. Posted the info under the Coupons Discounts area. Expires 8/3 Mon.

Received a delivery date of 8/11 so will come back with a review of the rug then and photos.
