New tombstones -- something a bit different

Hello fellow haunting addicts!

Here are another couple of tombstones I just completed. You may have already seen these if you're on FB but if not, here they are!

The first stone is a more conventionally painted stone and the second is something I haven't done before -- a white stone! I recently visited my local cemetery and I noticed the majority of the stones were white and not grey stone. I decided to imitate a stone I took a picture of there and this stone was born.

You wouldn't think there would be a huge difference between grey and white but there is. My personal preference when making tombstones is grey, because it goes better with my style, but the white is really realistic and looks like it should be in a real graveyard. Very well done.
Like the white!

Thank you so much! I was going for realism with this stone so I appreciate your comments.
Like the white!
Thanks doto! I think I am going to do some more non-grey stones.
Love the white more than the grey....it looks like a real stone. But at night it all boils down to how you light it.....

They look superb the weathering technique really does the trick, very nice.
those are fantastic! vey authentic looking.
You could place the white stone in an old cemetery and one would be hard pressed to tell it from a real stone. Strong work!

Why, thank you so much! I was pleased with how this one turned out. I was a bit hesitant to do a white stone but I had seen so many at the actual cemetery that I had to try it.
I think you would be able to do great things with lighting the white one but they are both great wish I had that talent

Thanks! That's kind of you to say.

My stones didn't look like this in the beginning. It's definitely a skill I think most people could acquire with a little practice and some patience.

I hear you on that! I cringe when I look at my first ones and will be destroying them ASAP once I create enough new ones to fill the void. I may just moss over them entirely instead to hide my embarrassment, but keep them filling up space in the graveyard. lol

Haha. Yeah, I am going to "retire" my old stones too. Now that I have better techniques, I have been going into a tombstone making frenzy. :)
