Hello! I've always been a fan of halloween. Never joined any of these forums or blogs before. Don't really know how they work. I'm really into music and haven't been able to find any new halloween songs out there. Theres monster mash, mood music, and rock and roll songs that are put in the halloween category. Other than that, there hard to find. If someone was to write a new halloween cd with new halloween songs that they thought were really good, my question, is how would any of you in the halloween community who are into music, how would you go about trying to get it out there? Hello. Sorry, I have no idea how the music industry works. The Halloween music industry is probably a whole other type of creature. Guess you just put it on iTunes with the proper tags and hope people find it when they are looking for Halloween music. If you are confident they are great songs, and I do mean great, an idea would be burning some cds, and ask a local, appropriate store to carry it in your nearest city. If your album really has good feed back maybe you could then consider approaching your local Walmart - or some other Halloween chain, or thrift store, to carry it. People love free samples. They seem to practically demand them these days. Make a free youtube video.

The only other fellow who might be able to help you, if he is interest, and feels the same way about your songs, Is the fellow I seen making the singing pumpkin projections. http://www.thesingingpumpkin.com Sure he is a forum member. He has been doing it for years. Any advice he has is probably golden. Then there is Kickstarter. Like I said, I am no expert. Just giving you my opinion. LOL! Best of luck.

Also there are also Halloween radio stations. Inquire to Halloween Radio. http://www.halloweenradio.com/ They will let you know if you need to go back to the studio. LOL! They are probably your first, best critic on the subject, before you pursue any of my other suggestions.

Hey, welcome to the forums! There's actually a fair bit of Halloween music out there, but you really got to dig for it. There's a few threads here that are basically just lists of songs.

We've got a dedicated music section here, so if it's something you want to discuss more, you'd probably want to start a thread there with a more descriptive title.

I think nowadays there's a billion ways to distribute music, and I sure don't understand them at all. I think Bandcamp and Soundcloud are both platforms for sharing music. Not sure how you monetize it though, if that's what you're hoping to do.

If you can put up a sample online somewhere, then I'd probably start getting involved in social media, and following the different Halloween sites, bloggers, tweeters. Etc. I really frown on people who come here just to the forums just to be spammy and sell stuff, but if you want to be a member of the community, it'd make sense to put a link to your music in your signature. And I think things like links from other sites go aways to improving your google ranking.

You just want to be careful that you aren't spammy about it. Even Google rankings will get snooty if you seem like you're pushing too hard.

If you can get a talented 8 year old to make a minecraft or Pokemon Go tutorial video and stick the song in the background, well that's money in the bank!
