For some background...we used to host a 75 person annual Halloween party. One year we ripped up 1/3 acre of grass & planted a corn maze and suspended a 5' lighted UFO above it. Hidden aliens throughout... We went all out EVERY YEAR! 3 moves & 2 states later we finally found our forever home...

We just closed escrow today & all I can think about is how to haunt this old gal!! Apparently this is THE neighborhood for TrTing... House is on a corner lot soo we will march kiddos up steps through front door, through house to side door on right. I just need some ideas for the front yard. I have a ton of uplights/fog machines. I need help with a theme/placement since this is ALOT of yard space... Hubby told me to layout an electrical plan now since he will

be trenching permanent exterior electrical for me. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! I'm a little overwhelmed with the reno and doing this Halloween season right ;)

I'm in Stillwater, work in Tulsa. You're going to have fun with this. I haven't made it to the Castle yet, but hope to this year.

What have you done in the past? Are you looking for something completely different and are you a DIYer or do you buy props? Or a bit of both as most people are?

Congrats on the house! I had an 1876 folk Victorian before moving to Oklahoma, I miss having something older and I wish we lived in a better area for TOTs. Sometimes I question if it's worth all the time I put into the yard. But I do it for myself as much as anyone else.

I am not very familiar with the weather in the area, but I imagine that it will be at least chilly and rainy that time of year. So something weather-resistant and not a lot of maintenance due to the volume of space needed to be filled. By the looks of it - which is beautiful, BTW - you could really go any direction you wanted. Maybe a general 'haunted mansion' feel to begin with. A cemetery takes up a lot of space, and then you can add on to that anything you like and have different sections. A pet cemetery section takes up even more space. You can add Universal Monsters, spider infestation, zombies, creepy trees, pumpkin patch, corn field, etc. I wish I had that kind of space!

First off congratulations! that is an awesome "Halloween home and yard" oooooooh all the evil and scary ideas as I look at your photograph. First and foremost, mark where you want those exterior outlets and put them in places that will work for other holidays like Christmas as well. keep those outlets around 20 to 25' apart since extension cords in the 25 foot length are very affordable.

Start off with a cemetary fence, make it a wood fence for now then as you have time you can make it elaborate if you like. Get those head stones and do a cemetary for this year since you are in a new area. Dont worry about your big bash this year since you are new there. Put up an axworthy ghost and maybe some atmos fx projections in some windows. Up light those trees with blue and green even a white light here and there. As for foggers, go for the ground fog along the edge to each side of the stairs. You have a perfect slope for the fog to travel down and to the street. Get out those skeletons and put them on the side of the house like they are trying to get into the windows and on the roof. Your porch over the front door is perfect for a ghostly party or some wiches. Better yet put a giant Home Depot on the porch up there on the second store. For spooks, make the graves look like bodies are coming out of the ground and hide your husband under one of them to sit up as the kids walk up the walk way. I use black trash bags filled with leaves and covered with burlap. Its easy to hide someone under the burlap. Have Fun!

You can never go wrong with a cemetery/pumpkin patch.
Yep, I like to keep it simple & classy. Our front yard is a focal point of the neighborhood, we're across from a stop sign. I want the yard to be spooky but not an eyesore. The cemetery will always be my theme and the only thing I hope to add to every year.
