Im sorry to create another Fog thread, but i have been searching for days on the site and going through the threads and i just cant decide what to get and what kind of liquid, i dont need anything crazy, but i dont want anything weak and im wasting my money.
I seen the monoprice one 1200-Watt Fog Machine, i see some good reviews and some bad. What is the best liquid to use? I seen bog fog, and one called froggys i believe. Im not concerned about ground fog, im looking to spend under $100 on fog machine (if possible) but i dont have a problem spending more if needed. And how much liquid to i need to buy? If someone can just post what they use and the liquid they use, i just want to purchase something that is working for someone already so i dont regret what i buy. I hope someone can help me. Thank you very much! Im doing a boiler room in my front yard (nightmare on elm street) and im going to be freddy, so i want to make sure its good. thank you

I just bought the fogger from Mono based on feedback from the forum,imo froggy's juice is the best hands down. Still debating on creating a tote chiller though...

For the last 3 years I've used the Chauvet 1100 (now the 1101; about $99) and froggys swamp juice. It's the only fog fluid I've run through my machine. After Halloween I follow the cleaning instructions from the Froggy's website to the letter and my fogger has run like a champ each year I pull it out.

Im guessing im better off spending the extra $40 and buying something better quality. How much fog fluid do you purchase for your night of halloween? This is my first fog machine im purchasing believe it or not, and want to cover all the bases,

I have been using cheap foggers for years and never been happy, I just bought a chauvet 1301 for $140 put in froggy's bog fog fog juice and am so impressed with how much fog it puts out. it is worth the money to buy a good fog machine. Since I just purchased this fog machine I don't know how much fog juice it will use, however my 1200 watt machine last year for Halloween night used a little over a half a gallon. So with the chauvet 1301 putting out 20000 cubic feet a minute, compared to the 1200 watt 6000 cubic feet a minute, I will plan on getting 2gallons to be safe. I hope this helps

Seems like that may be too much for what I need. I don't want to over do the fog. But I guess when it's on a timer or letting me shoot it when I want I should be ok

I've used the same gallon for the last 3 years for my witch cauldron effect. I usually have the timer set for every 1.5 to 2 minutes to keep the cauldron constantly full, however I also have a piece of plexiglass in the cauldron to contain the fog so that probably helps conserve fluid. You can see it in my video below.

What are your plans for the fog machine....is it for random ambiance or a specific prop?

I've got a 1000W from one of the Halloween Stores and a couple 700s from Spirit that I use with props. They do a great job and most importantly, they come with timers. By using the timers wisely, the foggers last all night without needing a refill. If your goal is to blanket the neighborhood in fog, then you need to increase your budget and buy a bigger machine and a lot of fog.


I use Theatre Effects fog. We held a fogoff a while back and it soundly beat Froggys' I always wonder what those who say Froggy's is the best have compared it too?

I tried to have another fogoff this year, but nobody showed up with Froggys.

A fog chiller is a box you run your fog through to cool it before releasing it. Chilled fog stays low to the ground and creeps. You can make them out of an old cooler. You take flexible dryer tubing, snake it through the inside of the cooler like intestines, have the ends of the tubing attached to holes you have drilled on either side of the cooler at the base, fill it with ice and position it at the end of your fogger so the fog runs through the tubing and gets chilled.

Not looking to use it for a prop...just to have fog through the air so I can get around as freddy and people not being able to follow where I go all the time. Maybe a ground fogger would be better for me? But I think the air is scarier.

I recently got the Monoprice unit with a 15% off code. I'd had a similar priced cheap unit for a few years I'd bought at a Halloween store and it died Halloween night last year (grrr). I reluctantly bought the Monoprice unit, but I have to say that thing is pretty stout. Seems well built.

I put some Froggy juice in it the other night (don't recall which version) and it spews fog way better than I think my other units did combined. I'll try to shoot a video of it this weekend, but for sure it's output is pretty good.

On the other hand, there is no timer remote for it. So I'll likely try to figure out the 3 pin wiring and try to use one of my existing timers from my old unit. A nice feature though is it comes with a wireless remote, but I don't have the ability to stand around and micro manage it.

For like under $60 after tax and shipping, you can't go wrong with the Monoprice unit...even if you need a backup.

thats all i needed to hear. Do you have the 15% off code? And how much Froggy Juice do you go through in a night? I read if you just tape the button down it will shoot out fog every time is charged and ready. Thanks for the help!!!

The code I had used was hot15. Not sure if it's still good though.

Regarding the juice usage, I know the year before WHEN my fogger worked, I had to fill the container like 3 times. For sure a gallon of juice will get you through the night IMO. I had mine going off with the timer and even with it cycling every minute or so, I still had juice left over.

This is another plus for the Monoprice unit in that it's tank is much bigger. So you'll probably only have to refill once. I also noticed it had a nice brass fitting on the pickup tube for the screen. My other units had plastic attachments

I have two Chauvet Hurricane 1300 Fog Machines .. Pair that with froggy fog swap juice and we fog the neighborhood.
