Ok first off new to the forum, 36 Canadian Male, Saskatchewan. Love the ideas and tutorials, site looks great!

Tried the search engine but came up dry.

So basically I'm building my first Casket and want to do a MIB.....but not no lazy MIB this sucker has to be pissed he is in there!
So wiper motor I don't think will work unless I put a 32 tooth gear on it or something lol.

The MIB will be activated by a motion switch that will run for a minute or two.

I'm pretty mechanically inclined and not scared to loose a finger trying ? jk. I love my fingers

I've been looking pneumatics, Im pretty sure I can get the speed I need from air, just not sure how to do it.

Thx for your help and Happy Halloween

Yes pneumatics is the way to go for a fast violent mib. I used 2 pneumatic cylinders with rubber feet on the ends of the shafts for mine and it rocks. You also needa solenoid valve for each cylinder and some type of prop controller. If you also want the lid to move add 1 more cylinder and valve or use a wiper motor.

Of course you will also need a compressor, air lines and various fittings. It can get quite expensive. Check out Frightprops creature crate kit to see what I mean.

Ok I'm a Plumber by trade, so most of these parts I can get at cost. It looks like I might need toget the prop controller. Are there better brands? More bang for your bucka

Well a few days have past and I figure it's time to post some pics...

First build on the toe pincher casket...

I wasn't happy with this build, the top didn't look correct. So I rebuilt it.

Second Build...

Having built and then rebuilt my casket, I was getting pretty good at this. I ended up building a mini casket too...

Finally I got to build the lid...

Finally happy with the build I went shopping for some Color...

Today I was working on the guts...this year due to time restrictions I will be going with an electric motor, some pulleys and chains. I'm hoping this will give me enough noise and movement on the lid to scare the pants off some kiddies. Also is side will be a strobe light and a fog machine. Strobe and the motor will be activated by motion sensor. Fog will be plugged in but activated by sensor as well.

Also thinking of adding a red flood activated by another motion sensor. To flood the whole area with nice red light, making the fog more visible..

If you guys have an advice Im all ears.

Halfbakedbat......if you're gonna do a M.I.B. then i would get the pneumatics from Princess auto (a Canadian company) and also get a PicoBoo controller (also a Canadian company)...to control the whole thing. I only mention that they're Canadian companies because you can go directly to Princess Auto to pick up the cylinders and fittings in person and order the PicoBoo and save on the shipping as it's from Canada (Ontario as a matter of fact). I get all of my pneumatic cylinders and hoses and fittings at Princess Auto....great prices AND, if you are doing pneumatics, you'll find yourself going back and back again to get that one stupid little fitting you didn't know you needed when you were there in the first place.....lol. If you need any help......don't hesitate to ask.....Scruff'
