We are doing "It" as our core theme this year. We came up with the idea of re-creating the well from It but using an infinity illusion. All of the previous infinity props I've run across are square or rectangular. Couple of questions:

1) Our well will be circular, will that prevent the illusion?

2) Its difficult to find a round 36" mirror for the base. Does anyone have a source? Or could I use two smaller mirrors edge to edge?

3) Ideally we would like the kiddies to be able to lean on this and look down. Design ideas on constructing a round well to stand up to this?

A round well will work just fine. And the mirrors don't have to be round, they can be square with a round well on top. Or you can just use plexiglass with mirror film over the top, that's easy to make in any shape. Keep in mind that unless you make it thick or have a backer on the plexiglass, it can flex and distort the illusion. And if you're looking for something that will take abuse, you pretty much have to go with a plywood structure, or at least sub-structure. You can use foam for the stones or whatever you're going to do, but it needs a wooden backer. Foam, especially if it's going to have little fingers on it, is easily damaged too, so keep that in mind.
