Thank you all so much for the great advice and thanks brushe for letting me hog your thread.

I'm starting to think that I will eventually want two airbrushes. One for close detail work and a larger one for bigger props. For now, I'm gonna see if I can get away with the Iwata HP-CS for both jobs. Oh, I will also add a new respirator mask (thanks Dark lord) to the cart.

Baron, I looked to see if a .5 mm needle was available for the HP-CS and I didn't see one. So I'm then assuming that's why I will want to eventually get another airbrush for those larger jobs?

By the way. Last night while the hubby was watching a HORRIBLE movie (Starship Troopers 3) I watched dozens of airbrushing videos on You Tube. That is a cool way to see them in action. Everyone used the gravity feed airbrushes so that's the direction I'm gonna go.

I'm so excited to get my new toy! Daddywoofdog, you are making me blush  and thanks.

Thinking that maybe an airbrush post in tutorials might be best for Q & A s for anyone getting into ABing,as we have a several experienced ABers here.
Not to mention all the cool trick n tips that are used for paint effects. I think that we have not hijacked this thread as we have kept to the basic idea & replies to haunters looking into ABing & questions of needed equipt,etc.....
& just a warning........ABing is majorly addictive...........:D
& just think of the T shirts you can AB halloween themes on...................................... ;)
---------------------
& Tera, ABs are like ruffle potato chips....ya can never have just one.....LOL....., & single actions are nice for really thick paints like mixing rubber cement with color tints for mask spraying.

Dark Lord sign up my wife. I am sure she will have a million questions here shortly. I didn't get the one on Ebay yesterday. We had to go to Virginia to look at wedding dresses for my DD. So I had the 40% coupon for Micheal's. Thought I might get one there, but all I did was get confused. Every thing kept saying for the propel. Any way got home started reading this again last night. Found this one, and started watching it. So this is what she ended up with. I do want to thank everyone for your help. Maybe one day I can return the favor.

Brushe and Terra..I'm delighted that you both chose Iwata airbrushes. :D(No...I'm not on a commission before anybody asks)
I'm sure you will be happy with your choice. They are an excellent tool and will give you many years of good service. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your work, as I'm sure are all the rest of the contributors to this thread.
Remember, practice makes perfect..and this cannot be overstated when it comes to airbrushing. Practice, practice and practice some more.

Best of luck to you both.

(Terra, I'm sure a 0.5mm needle is available for the CS. I purchased mine a couple of years ago although it was from a store, not on line.
You may well find that your airbrush gives the coverage you require as it is, but if you are struggling let me know and I'll see what I can find).
