For our Spooky Speakeasy party I was wanting to build a SIB, "Snitch In A Box", my remake of a MIB. I found an add on Craigslist for a company looking to get rid of old pallets and scrap wood. Score. Well when I got there, I came upon this......perfect!





I also picked up a couple of large and medium pallets so I was able cut some down and wrap the crate into this.

Since the party will be inside, I didn't want a noisy compressor, a lot of hoses etc and didn't want to have to try and fill a small 5 gallon tank I have over and over throughout the night. So I went with a $5 12V Power door lock actuator. I also already had on hand 2 of Scubaspook's 4 button learning prop controllers. As I was building the lid it got heavier and heavier, and when I went to test it, nothin'. Actuator wouldn't lift it. So I had to redesign it. I came up with the below and tested it. This is what I ended up with. Still have to add some grey staining and add my plastic chains. Possibly create a stencil across the top at an angle "Snitches"
The audio track will be a recording of a muffled voice saying "Hey let me outta here, help me" etc. It'll be triggered every 5 mins or so.

Just a side note, if the only pneumatic would have been a single small cylinder to rattle the lid, a 5 gal tank with 100psi would probably last all night.
