This is the beginning of plans to build a pneumatic scarecrow made of metal.

Everything was made using scrap metal. Cut and then arc welded and mig welded together. My plans are to put a deck mount hinge behind the forehead. with an eye so that the head pivots from the forehead up and down. Then approximately 9 inches behind the face will be a 1" square steel tube for the neck and to connect to the body when it gets built. On the 1" square tubing I will connect a 3/4" cylinder with a 4" stroke which will connect to the chin and push the chin forward.

The resting position of the scarecrow face will be with the chin tucked in. When activated, the chin will push out and the scarecrow will look like he is looking forward instead of down.

It is an ambitious build and I don't know how I will make the time, but I thought I would share what I have so far. I hope you like it.
