I found a small crate at work and decided to take a whack at the classic Monster In A Box prop. My version is made to look like an old box that might have been around for many, many years. I used a green light instead of the traditional red just to be different. The monster is an old dollar store vampire mask I did a little reshaping and repainting to so that it looked a bit more creepy and a bit less human. I used a little Bluetooth speaker I also found for free to make an ambient soundtrack of occasional heavy breaths/sighs and a few low growls. When activated by the motion sensor a second soundtrack kicks in that I made by taking recording of an angry Tasmanian devil and reversing it. I kept the animation fast so that it looks like the creature is aggressively trying to break out. Pretty happy with it so far, just a little fine tuning to do with the motion detector to get it running reliably. In this video I had not yet added the ambient audio and the mic on my camera does not pick up the screeching very well over the lid slamming. In person the screeching is very loud.
