The prop I have wanted to build for three years has finally been accomplished. I took it for a test run today and it works great. I still have a few odds and ends to finish and I'm thinking about adding skulls to the walls but so far I'm very pleased with the work.

Could you please provide a supply list and where you sourced them? I might sneak this in this year.
Almost the entire thing is made from old fence material. We replaced most of our backyard fence last April and I kept the old material, which is the only reason I was finally able to get this prop built this year. The bottom mirror I bought at Target, 1 year ago (it's two foot by two foot). I bought it on clearance at 50% off so it only cost $20. It sat in the closet for a year because I never got around to building it until now. The two way mirror I bought from a glass company in the area, it's a 1/4 inch thick piece of glass and cost me $25. I then took it to a commercial window tint place and the guy was super cool and didn't even charge me to do the work because the tint was from an old job he did a few years ago. The light is from Lowe's. I put the whole box together with a nailer using 18 gauge brads of various lengths. I'll post some pics later of how it is set up.

Looks great! Never seen anyone do it but I wonder how it would look with a piece of ladder on the opposite side of the light. Might look really cool.
I thought about that but I picked the red, swirling light because I wanted it to look like it was a portal to Hell and I figured "why would Hell have a ladder down to it?" LOL! My brother in law saw it today and just came up with a great name for it on the spot..... The Well to Hell.

Really looks awesome! How do you intend to use it in your haunt?
The plan now is to have it right next to the sideway that runs in front of the house. I can't have it behind the fence and inside the graveyard because I don't allow TOTs in the graveyard because there are too many electrical cords to trip on and I don't want them getting too close. I figure this can be along the graveyard fence line and near the sidewalk, so when they walk by they can look in. It also has to be as far away from the street light as possible.

Why do you need to tint the two way mirror? I am with you on the cemetery. I learned that lesson my first year when kids where running all over. That is why my cemetery has a mock picket fence around it.
I didn't tint a two way mirror, I took a piece of glass and had mirror tinting applied to one side of it, making it a two way mirror.

Maybe build a creepy little roof to put over it if you need to block the street light.
That's actually exactly what I've decided to do. I'm going to make it into a well, with a little roof and maybe an old bucket hanging above it. And make a sign that says "The Well to Hell".
