Hey all the music producers here including small (myself) and big (Midnight Syndicate)

What programs do you use to make your sounds?

I Personally love the feel of Fruity Loops Studio Producer edition

Favorite Synth program?

Just all around talk about your craft, share sound mixing/ tweaking/ editing techniques. :)

Cool sounding track, I liked it a lot! Nice and creepy.

I haven't dabbled too much in the synth department yet, but I plan on giving it a shot. I personally like to try and go for more of an orchestral sound in the few pieces I've done, and for that I've used some of the libraries from Garritan. They're relatively inexpensive, but they sound pretty good for the money IMO. The first couple of pieces I did, The Final Ticket https://soundcloud.com/world-of-fright/the-final-ticket and Ghost in a Storm https://soundcloud.com/world-of-fright/ghost-in-the-storm I had to record each individual instrument/patch through Garritan's Aria player, and then assembled and edited them all in Adobe Audition.

Now I'm using Cubase and loving it, and it's the DAW I used to create Undead Gathering https://soundcloud.com/world-of-fright/undead-gathering . For that I used some of the Garritan's libraries and also Halion Sonic 2, and a couple of Choir and Percussion plugins.

Eventually I'd like to try out some of the bigger and badder libraries that are out there.

I do music in my spare time, but mainly in the rock/metal spectrum. I figured if I needed something more orchestral or atmospheric, stick with Midnight Syndicate or its ilk.

For software in production, I use FL Studio 10, but for editing audio, I use Adobe Audition.
