I love the ease and relative cheapness of working with monster mud but I dislike that it isn't all that waterproof. My 15 tombstones have faired well over the past 4 years but I can see signs of weather damage, and cracks. So I bought a container of foam coat to cover several small to medium sized projects, gargoyles and such. And they are rock solid. But I was wondering about using it for larger applications without quite expense. Has anyone ever tried to mix monster mud with foam coat? How did it turn out? Does it hold up?

I did find this thread of various ideas of how to make a hard coat over foam. Some great ideas in there I want to try too.

Thanks!
