hi,

has anyone made a ufo/spaceship? i'm after ideas. needs to be as cheap as possible and easy to store afterwards (or that cheap i can just chuck it). It is to go in garden as though the aliens have crashed.

my only thought so far is using kids inflatable paddling pools so 1 of the rings is not inflated fully and looks at an angle.

I know several People have done the Alien theme with spaceships. Kind of a new area for me but if I were to build one. The first things I would look at are maybe pvc or old fiberglass tent poles for the frame work and then cover it with Mylar blankets like these.

Fairly cheep and probably reusable if the don't get torn at all.
Here are a couple of other ideas from the forum that I have seen

Ok Found one more took me a bit to find it but if you just google UFO cemetery haunt I believe it should show up like second or third on the page. Pretty neat Idea for a change of theme anyway.
Again good luck and keep us posted on your progress

We didn't build this we purchased it from the owner of Scream at the Beach in Portland when he closed up shop. The thing was huge 10 or more people could stand in it at a time. The ribs were built from plywood and the skin was fabric stapled to the frame. It was incredible light weight and came apart in sections, I believe you can see the sectioning in the photo. The very top was made of small triangle plywood frames and fabric to make an enclose ship that could be walked through. It was easy to do repairs if it got a tear... just a little spray adhesive and a strip of fabric. I do think if I was to reskin it I might go with silver tarps to make it more water tight. The thing leaked badly in the rain.

Added a second photo to show what the plywood ribs looked like.
