HOLY COW

This linear actuator is so loud. Are they all like this or did I just get a unusually and ridiculously loud one??

As well I attached it to a picovolt and it goes soooo sloooow. I cannot control the speed at all. It came with it's own controller but not a power source so I used my pico. Maybe if I wire up a powersource to the original controller it came with it will be a bit faster... and quieter?? Maybe?!

Yeah, I would try the control that came with it, it should be able to move faster than in the video.

It sounds like you have an actuator that is optimized for "strength" rather than speed. Can you provide specs or a link to where you purchased it?

welll hmmmmn, and there you go! I had simply done a google search for a 10 inch actuator. Never realizing there were options like strength and speed. I guess I need to go shopping again.

This one is rated for:
Travel speed without load: 0.22 inches/sec (5.7 mm/s)
and
maximum load: 1500N/330lbs
