Looking to make doomsday machine - ideas needed

Trying to make a futuristic doomsday machine / explosive device / to disarm as part of "escape room" theme halloween party.

Want to stay politically correct so it can't look like a real bomb. Want blue lights maybe in clear cyclinder, wires, computer console stuff like that.

Has anyone built anything like this.

It will have puzzles attached like panel to open with wires to cut, LED displays ( my husband builds/makes these for pinball machines ), etc

Ideas welcome.

It can bb horizontal or vertical...just a start, can't find picture online that i'm thinking of. I'm pretty sure star wars has it but I cant locate.

Maybe have a look at pictures of the Dr. Who Tardis controls - lots of knobs, buttons, dials, etc there to get ideas from. And they change it every now and then so there are a lot of variations.

Great idea. Could put puzzles in control panel. Like solving circuit with snap circuit planning to have secret number display on LEDs when circuit is solved.

Does anyone know where to get plastic sheets that are thicker than plastic sheeting and can be bent/curved into cylinder.
