This year marks our fifth party and I've decided that a theme will help make it a little different than the previous years. I'm pretty sure that I've settled on fear as the theme. Please let me know what you think of the wording below as part of our invitiations. Thanks in advance!
As Halloween draws near, what fills you with dread?
Is it flying, or dying, or what’s under the bed?
Whispers in the dark, the sound is so clear…
So show me my dear what fills you with fear?
Is it the sound of footsteps upon the stair?
Does the sight of a werewolf give you a scare?
They’re louder now, those voices that jeer…
So show me my dear what fills you with fear?
Is it a spider’s creep or a zombie’s crawl…
or being held in the vampire’s thrall?
Medusa’s snakes writhe and rear…
So show me my dear what fills you with fear?
Is it the darkness growing until you are blind…
or finding yourself losing you mind?
Is it the loss of control as you shed a tear?
So show me my dear what fills you with fear?
Thanks. Now I just have to figure out what the invite will look like. What do you think about something based on the necronomicon? I'm thinking using 8 1/2 by 11 paper folded in half with something like the image below on the front... once you open it the words on the left , and the party details on the left half... does that make sense? Does anyone else have other fear related ideas?
The wording is great and I love the whole idea. I might just have to have to tuck a copy of that poem away for some use at a future party - it's really, really good!
