An addition: walmart has some $4 gloves this year that are a stretch fabric (feels kind of like tshirt jersey, not shiny satin) that fit me pretty well. I'm a woman, but I'm plus sized and my hands measure 7.5" around the knuckles so I have trouble with most one-size-fits-who gloves. These fit really well, with room to spare in the fingers, plenty of space in the thumb (this never happens) and they came all the way up to my elbows no problem. Bit thin where they stretch over the knuckles, but I don't consider that a flaw for $4.

Though I have the feeling I won't be much help on this, I've ran into the same problem. Always wanted a pair of arm gloves but didn't want to spend an arm and a leg, no pun intended, for something that was gonna fall apart after several uses. So I made my own out of a pair of my wife's old tights. Been wearing them for over 4 years now.
