Okay, I am having a problem now with my Light-O-Rama Sequence Editor. When I first recieved my 16 channel controller from somebody selling it on Ebay, I installed the version 1 of the sequence editor and other LOR programs to my computer.

Now at some point I managed to get the updated version of the software (LOR S2) and I believe many people have this version themselves. And all my sequences I created were playing fine and so were others' who had sent theirs to me. But a few months later and the computer had somehow reset itself so the sequence editor had gone back to the older version so now I find it harder to edit and I cannot open anybody elses' files unless they are using S1 version.

How can I get my S2 version back without having to pay?

PS: I do not have a licence key because my controller was not purchased from the Light-O-Rama website.

Thanks.

The original version of the software did not have copy protection.
The original version of S2 did not either but it did have a do not work past date. So you've hit that date... The only way to actually get it to work is get the license authorization from LOR... It looks like it's $139 for the advanced version.

Because you have the original version of LOR you may be able to call them and explain your situation. The way it worked for me was I bought the original version then when they switched to the new version it was a free upgrade. You could try and go this route..It may work.

I too bought a used controller. If the person from whom you bought the unit is no longer an active LOR user, they will cancel that persons license and reissue you a new key. Now, if the seller sold multiple units to multiple people, I am not sure how they will handle that. I too recommend you call them. They are easy people to deal with.

The basic version of the software is $50 and unless you're wanting to do some advanced stuff (which I personally never use) then you're fine with the basic version. You can see the different versions here. It sucks to drop the cash for it, but at this point it's probably your only option.

Pay attention to how many controllers you can set up with the different versions.....
Advanced is the only one with unlimited controllers.
Standard is 8
basic + is 4
basic is 2:eek:
Demo is -0-
I used 16 controllers for Christmas and 4 for Halloween last year.

Toymaker (or anyone else for that matter), I'm pretty sure the answer is no but do you know if it is possible to run two shows off the same computer simultaneously? I'd like to do two different things with my LOR's for my Halloween display, and was hoping to avoid tying up two computers.

The software is not setup to do that per se but you should be able to depending on your setup. Lets say you want one show playing in the backyard and one in the front yard you could take two songs combine them in audacity one of the left channel on of the right then combine your two shows into one show play the right channel in the front yard the left channel in your back yard and bang two shows at the same time. Of course you might run into issues if the songs are different lengths one at 2.5 min the other 3 min you would have 30 seconds you would need to fill for the first song before the show starts over again.

Brilliant! This will work perfectly for what I'm looking to do. I am planning on using one LOR for a lightning/thunder effect and a second LOR for a ghostprints effect. Since I can have the thunder loop anywhere I want, there won't be any length conflicts. Thanks for the suggestion!
