After a 3 year hiatus I finally got the go ahead to have a Halloween Party. I was fortunate that at the time someone was selling Wizard of Oz cardboard cutouts and accessories that they used for their kids birthday party so I knew what my theme would be. My sister and I then spent 6 months planning what we would do, what to buy and what to DIY'd, putting this party together with our imagination, lots of painters tape and glue dots. Given the movie took viewers on a journey to oz down the yellow brick road we wanted the same thing for our party. So our guests started off walking through some rainbow streamers, past the flying monkey training zone and then continued on down the yellow brick road to munchkinland, the haunted forest, our witches work shop (where we had good witch (pink lemonade) and bad witch (spiked sangria) drink stations), through the field of poppies and finally ending at the gates of oz where we had setup the bar/drinks station under a "hot air balloon". We hand wrote out speech bubbles with the most popular quotes from the movie to give the cardboard cutouts some personality (sorry didn't get very good pictures of them all) and had the movie playing on the tv during the party to add to the mood. Hope you enjoy these pictures and they help inspire your next party.
