Hi friends! So, I have a bit of a dilemma. I have purchased these very cool colored contact lenses to go with my costume this year and they really complete the whole look so I'd really like to make them work. Problem is, I am TERRIBLE at putting them in. In fact, one year I went as a zombie and could only stand to have one in so I just kinda went with the weird one eyed zombie look. That was find for a zombie but it won't work for this year's costume (catrina/dia de los muertos). Last night I tried a test run and after about 20 minutes, I was able to get my right contact in...another 30 minutes after that, my left. My eyes were not terribly sore or scratchy with them in but it does take a little to get used to the fogginess that comes with wearing colored contacts. When I took them out though, I could tell that I probably (maybe?) scratched my left eye. I can't really tell if my eye was sore from all of the effort it took to get the contact in or because I scratched my cornea. It's better today but I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Does it get better?
I'm a little concerned that my eyes will water a lot and mess up my day of the dead makeup. Oh the trials and tribulations of Halloween! ;-)
These are Gothika lenses and come pretty well recommended, FYI. The only other time I've worn contacts is one Halloween several years ago.
