Hey all!

I am volunteering for a children's halloween party at a shelter for battered women and children.... I told them that I could dress up and tell a spooky story to the kids! (probably 5-10 minute story)

I plan on going as a tamed-down Dracula... it's an easy makeup to do and wouldn't be too scary for the kids.

Because of the nature of the audience, I probably shouldn't make it violent... these families have been through a lot!

Any thoughts or recommendations?

How old are the kids? If they're toddlers -- and if you don't being not strictly Halloween-y, then the Berenstain Bears 'The Spooky Old Tree' or perhaps even 'Bears in the Night' might be good choices.

If you want something Halloween-y, then 'Room on the Broom' or 'Goodnight Goon' would also be good choices.
