so how did your misfortune happen? i have some things i could care less about but some things are very dear to me. wow, you have had an unfortunate event. sorry to hear that. mr chicken, i like your positive attitude. it is the best direction to go now.

Yes thank you for all the positive post it made me feel a little better Im excited for all new stuff just slightly bummed out... I will try to make it a short story but got hit with the recession hard had to give up my place and my husband,my kids and myself had to move in with my mother in law, we were living with her and her other son in a two bedroom apartment so we were on the floor and had to get rid of what we could and put the rest in the storage so my halloween and my christmas stuff cause I also really like decorating for christmas and some other stuff was put in storage till we could move out.... well my husband finally was making enough for us to move out so we did we switched the address to our storage cause we were still in the process of getting everything out and getting stuff moved in between his job and everything but then it went bad again... They cut my husbands hours ( i stay at home with our kids day care is outrageous) and pay so we had to choice between paying the storage or roof and food for ourselves and kids and that always comes first so I made the desion to let them sell what was left in the storage to get their money.

wow, that is real hard. i hope things get better for you guys. i know what you mean about recession though. i've been working 7 days a week. 8 to 9 hours a day hoping to make living costs. things have got to get better, i just know it. i'll keep you in my thoughts.

Thank you It wasn't a hard choice but an unfortunate necessary one... 7 days a week only 8 to 9 hours??? I am so sorry to hear that for you that is really hard to make living cost like that. I think were all on our way of not being affected by this recession but it is going to be a hard long winding road to get over it, but I hope a lot of luck comes your way and everyone elses who are cutting back to make ends meet. And I will keep you in my thoughts as well thank you again

Thank you yeah it is disappointing but was something that had to be done who ever gets that stuff will be one very very happy person and like Mr. Chicken Said I can rebuild and make it better then ever

Thank you wolfman... yes it is the spanish word for witch thought it was kinda creative : ) I think we all go through one time or another having to pick up pieces and rebuild... sometimes you just need to vent but it is better to have what can't be rebuilt

I feel bad you had to let the stuff go. I know I have some favorite item I would feel bad about if they got lost, stolen or destroyed by kids, weather or whatever. I always find that searching for things for my display is part of the fun of halloween so hopefully once you get back in that mode it will be replaced by new fun memories and I'm sure the ToTs will find it fun to see some new stuff out. Hang in there.

Someone told me about this place where you can find utterly fantastic props! It would seem that these fields exist everywhere. Some speculate they are abandoned farms or just unused land people keep dumping stones and dead flowers upon. Either way if you can get past the graffiti kids carve into the stones(even kids must be hurting that they no longer use spray paint) you'll find these wonderfulabandoned corpses oh about 6 feet deep. Some have turned to dust but others look like they could get up and chase you! Some appear to be heavily "made up" with their sunday best and make up(even on the males). Others appear to have been mutilated in some way(missing ring fingers).I really couldn't believe my eyes. I was even surprised I was stil standing after seing others discover the site and have to fall to one knee. I did catch a few people dumping their yard waste(flowers) behind one of those stones with all the vile graffiti. I can only imagine some haunted attraction died out and the props were discarded there....(shrugs)
