So I've been building a bigger and bigger pumpkin patch (all different sized fake lit up ones) for my yard haunt and the day after Halloween I see this beauty on clearance at HD.
It's perfect for what I want, add some scarecrows, spot lights, tombstones........perfect.
I don't know how I missed it before or maybe I didn't realize at the time how well it would fit with my idea.
Now I can't find it anywhere.
I called around to all the HD's in my area that might have some in stock but no luck.
I saw some on Ebay but I hate ebay, I don't trust it at all.
I'm not even looking for the clearance price at this point (although that would be nice)

Does anyone know if HD repeats an item from the previous year or was this a one time thing?
Any advice would be nice.
Thanks!

Oh! Also wanted to say that I trust eBay. Twenty years ago, different story. Never hurts to apply a little common sense (i.e. how much activity a seller has, etc) but I have found eBay very reliable. When I have gotten something that was different or broken it was almost always an honest mistake. Once a seller backed out with a specious excuse, but I wouldn't be reluctant to use Ebay.

Totally agree.

That's really cute. I like it. I'd suggest calling the HD.com customer service number and inquire if they think it will be restocked online next year. Sometimes they know. There was a climbing santa inflatable and falling off the roof reindeers inflatable that I was so happy to get on clearance last year and I saw that they have both listed again for Christmas this year. So you might get lucky through Home Depot.

As for ebay, I know what you mean however I'd can report that I've been messed up by ordering off Amazon. They don't list where the seller is, unlike ebay, and I had an issue with an order that ended up being from China. Amazon ended up reimbursing me, but I'd rather know where I'm ordering from up front. I have bought a number of things over the years from both Amazon and ebay (more from ebay) and have had only a couple issues with transactions from both. But no where near any amount that would turn me away from buying from either. Back to ebay, after missing out on ordering the gargantuan spider from Home Depot before it sold out, I decided to check ebay. On 11/2 Found a well-rated, long time seller with one that had it listed at 50% off retail price. Pulled the trigger on it, and received it yesterday. The fact that ebay had a guarantee on it, helped make me take the leap. Glad I did. Got tracking on it and was able to see when it was going to be delivered.

BTW I checked to see if the pumpkin guy was listed in limited stock near me and would have been happy to check one of my two local stores for you. Unfortunately no luck but there were other stores in the SF Bay area that might still have it. Maybe someone else will see this and be willing to check their store for you.

If the pumpkins sold well, they'll be back again next year. That's just the way Home Depot works.

Rather than pay two to three times what the prop was selling for on E-bay, I would suggest waiting. Watch the Home Depot site and visit it frequently. The pumpkin guy shows as out of stock, but it's still showing and that often means it may return. Scores of other items aren't even on the list, and we know they'll be back.

Their full sized skeleton horse disappeared from their site shortly after Halloween. But it reappeared online at the beginning of May along with a whole bunch of new stock on sale for Halloween. It's been online, but it wasn't in any of our local stores all season. It's even on clearance now, but only online. That might be the way they deal with unsold stock that they don't expect to have in stores again.

I think if they have remaining stock after the new year starts, they're going to decide to either leave it online and sell off the remaining stock, or reorder and restock for next year. Either way, it's best to look at their site and make sure it doesn't return without you snagging what you want at a far more reasonable price than is over at E-bay.
