Oh, I miss QVC's Halloween Spooktacular!!! It was my fave to watch, even if I didn't order. They were always fully dressed up, being silly, full haunted house style decor and mini scary spots with CG animation stuff...wish they'd bring it back.

Thanks for letting us know about the HSN one, though! I'll have to peek in.

I have ordered from QVC off and on for years and my mom was an all-time QVC queen, but I have never heard of the QVC Spooktacular!! How did I miss it? Was this only broadcast on 10/31???

The QVC Halloween Spooktacular hasn't aired in a few years now, sadly. It was so awesome! They showed it around the beginning of Halloween season to have time to get your props/decor/treats/costumes delivered. I have found one tiny video of it...just a super short little in between products commercial, but it gives you an idea:

They always had awesome costumes and makeup for each different show set...this is only one of many over the years. The hosts had so much fun and got into character. Between sets during the commercials, they would have little skits like the video above, or show shots of the decorated set with spooky music, things moving, sound effects and CG spooky things added into it. I loved seeing each one. You can type in QVC Halloween on youtube and a few scattered things will pop up, but I haven't found any really good videos of what they used to do besides this one. If you check out the message boards at QVC, you can see that back in 2011, someone called them and asked why there was no more Halloween special and the rep said it wasn't profitable enough and there were too many returns. This makes no sense because it was quite a popular show...not profitable?

Well BOO on them! Even from that short teaser, it looks like they had tons of fun and would have been something really neat to watch and get some Halloween inspiration from!!

Thanks for taking your time and digging up that video WitchyKitty! I will check out youtube and see if I can find some other shorts.

That is really disappointing. I agree... that doesn't make any sense. I honestly can't imagine how they would have more returns than from their Christmas in July shows. I've already sent a couple of defective/damaged stuff back from that event!

The only other thing I have found was one of the cooking/kitchen Halloween set videos...it's all decorated candy style, the host is dressed as a candy girl and David, one of the main hosts, is dressed as bacon, hahaha. (David is awesome). It's just a video of the items being sold, though, not any of the in between skits or haunted set videos. I wish I could find one of those. I think there was a Halloween pumpkin video tutorial video, too, from qvc, I think, and random other little stuff about merchandise.

I agree, they do so much for Christmas...and probably have a zillion returns...they can't do one tiny little Halloween show??? I think much of the issue, was probably that people would buy the expensive props to use for Halloween, then return them the day after. I don't even think it was damaged merchandise...just people using and returning when they were done to get their money back...which is sad, because it ruins it for everyone else. I feel like i remember reading that somewhere, but i could be wrong...

If someone actually found other videos, that would rock! As for now, I will watch the HSN special...thankfully, they still do a show!

No problem. HSN used to have their HAUNTED HOUSE special for Halloween, so maybe that's similar to the Halloween décor shows. QVC Spooktacular was always a fun way to kick off the season. I remember it airing right after Labor Day, with shows on sometimes very early in the morning. The good old days!

We watched a couple of the earlier shows. Wasn't impressed with anything they showed. It's nothing that any of us haven't seen before. We did order the glow in the dark Jack- o-Lantern cookie jar though.

They didn't show a heck of a lot on the earlier shows. A lot of "commercials" too promoting other shows in the day or products. I think the first hour of the 11:00 show had 4 items. lol

I agree. I turned on the 8:00PM edition and so far am not very impressed. Lots of dreck and/or items that one can readily find for less, as well as what Shadowbat mentioned: far too much airtime devoted to plugging unrelated fashion and jewlery shows. I mean, come on, the best item they can promote are generic LED battery powered light strings, which you can get at the dollar store but which they want $10 each for and are hyping as "useful for any holiday."
