Greetings My Fellow Haunters,

I just wanted to extend a thank you to everybody for posting their photo's......I'm bad I have not added mine here yet! It seems like there are so many more entries this year as we have a lot of new members. I know its gonna take me awhile to sit & look at all these photo's cause when it comes to halloween pictures, I take my time & don't miss one!

How is everybody else coming along with looking at the pictures here & how many of you have not posted your photo's yet?

I notice how much buzz this forum has at the end of October and first half of November, so I'm going to wait until the end of the month to post pictures.

I can't filter through all these pics and threads.... I really try to view everyone's stuff and comment on it if I like it, but it is so dang overwhelming - that's a good thing though - lots of folks out there working.

Though I gotta say, if I open a thread and the pictures aren't embedded into the post (like if I have to click on an attachment or link) I find myself, recently, skipping over them.

I know what you mean DT ... I'm guilty of that too!

I do go to the album section of the forum and check out the new pictures posted just about every day. Sounds silly, but I'm never in a hurry to post pics of my stuff ... just me be a goof.

I'm slowly wading through the posts.

I'm a sucker for any post with no replies (they seems so lonely looking :( ) so those get my comments first.

I'll probably be paging through for the next month or so - it's amazing to see what everyone has done and the different levels and ideas. I was burnt out for about 3-4 days, but I'm already starting to get ideas for next year...:rolleyes:

I also try not to post too many of my own. I figure there are so many good pics out there, that looking at EVERY shot I took isn't necessary, especially since I'm still a relative newcomer to the prop building.

I am a little disappointed at the pictures of my yard this year to be honest. I take them myself during the day but this year I wanted nighttime pics to show all the lighting, effects...etc but for some reason my camera seemed to lose focus and even with using a tripod for the pics where the shutter had to be opened there still seemed to be some shaking. I also do not like that the FCG looks white instead of glowing under blacklight.
I am looking forward though to getting a copy of my Brother-in-law's video he took which looks great and can post that as soon as I get it.

Here are some of the better pictures ....

I am so behind. I'm trying to keep up but I'm realizing it is becoming a losing battle. I'm thinking that I'll look through them when the activity dies down.

I feel bad though, I don't want anyone to feel like no one cares. So, I hope that everyone gets lots of comments from others.

All the pictures have been great. They really get me in the mood to start planning for next year. I'm always so wiped out after all the decorating, planning and partying and it's so hard getting everything cleaned up -- I even get tempted to say "It was a great party but maybe I won't do it next year" and then I see all the photos and new ideas and it gets me going again.

I've been so busy checking out everyone's pix that I haven't gotten to mine yet. I hope to have them up in a week or two. A little bummed we didn't get as many decor pictures this year but we've got some fun party pix to share.

It would be great if there were more specific threads though. There are so many different picture threads its hard to decide what one to look at and if ive seen it already.

And the titles can be so similar too!

But its worth digging through them all to see all the fantastic pictures that are here.
This is why I'm trying to lead the campaign for people to consolidate their entire haunts into ONE THREAD --- pictures, thoughts, ideas, etc, etc.

Keep the tutorials separate... that's fine, but it's so much easier to follow a specific users 'stuff' when it's in one thread. :D

Well when I come to the forum, the new posts are in bold. So I know what I've seen and not seen. Can also see which ones I already commented on since there's a black spot on the envelope icon. If I check once a day, then it usually only takes a half hour or so to go thru the new posts.
I work part time and had last week and this week off. So, in the morning I bring my cup of coffee to the computer and check the forum. Sometimes do it again in the evening if I have time before going to bed. I also only check 3 of the many different halloween categories...general, props and party ideas. Even have time to visit the chat sometimes :)

thats not a bad idea at all.

Though when there are 15 'my cemetery' threads it could get confusing..LOL

I agree! But there is a simple remedy, which, through my campaigning you will find out.

It's a matter of titling your thread "LadyAlthea's Cemetery" or "LadyAlthea's Gothic theme", etc, etc.

That way, if I come back 6 months from now and I wanted to see that bitchin' prop you made, I know that I'd only have type in your name + whatever your description in the title was. And BOOM! ALL your 2008 stuff is there! No worrying about "hmmmm she created a thread on her tombstones... but also one on the final cemetery photos... oh yea, and another with Halloween night photos..." and sifting through 3 threads for one picture.

Meh... it's really just peeve of mine.

I am simply overwhelmed with the posts.
Everyone/everything ( that I have looked at) has been great and they are certainly a spring board for new ideas or copying. I love pics.
Agreed , with the several people that commented - if you have to go to an attachment or link right off the bat....I have been guilty of skipping it. At least post ONE pic on the thread if you are showing a prop, party or costume and say here's the link if you want to see more.
So that has been kind of erksome. But alot of people don't know how to post a pic...and are afraid to ask. Didn't Muffy do a TUT on this recently? Think that needs to be found and bumped....or make it required reading upon sign up ...LOL !
But I am overwhelmed with the amount of post and amount of new people....
I plan on going back and try to look at everything once the boards slow up.

I am also a person that trys to leave more of a comment than, "That's nice or That's awesome". I think all of us that do post pictures, or asks for help or opinions, like a bit more than just general " yawn" that's nice or a two word answer. Each pic I look at ...I do REALLY LOOK AT.....and every picture deserves more recognition or a more personal touch, IMHO> Feedback. I like feedback when I post something. And I try to be honest about my feedback. Seems like I always have a question for the person. The old how, when, why or I did that too.....So yeah, going through all these...(mine included cause I have posted stuff)
is overwhelming. I decided to take a break ( trying to put my own stuff away) and limiting
how much I am on right now...and how much I am posting to.

Agreed with DT about personal thread to an extent....it could be helpful. And may do that myself next year.
But I do use the Advanced Search alot....it has been very helpful to me this year.

There are so many good haunts posted recently, I'm having a hard time to get through them all. I'm gonna have to backtrack..............alot of pages.

I'll probably post mine at the end of the month as well!

The problem with doing that is that the thread becomes huge. Just look at the 'my 3 axis skull in progress' thread as an example. Another problem I run into with those large threads is that its hard to tell if the person who started the thread added something new or if its just comments by others. I wanted to keep up with your pirate thread but then I would click only to find out it was comments instead of something new that you added. And then next year, say I want to do a pirate theme....then its really a challenge shifting through ALL the pages to find the ones with the details of how you made it. Same thing happened with halloweenbob's thread. We wanted to build the 3 axis skull but sorting through those pages was a nightmare.
