How to rewire my fog timer to work with a gemmy model?

So I looked through this thread: http://www.halloweenforum.com/halloween-props/90283-universal-fog-timer-off-brand-fogger-suggestions-needed.html
But I didn't see any pictures. I have an old fog machine timer that I used to use with a 700w Spencer fog machine. That machine is long dead, but I still have the timer that came with it. When I try to plug the timer into my Spirit (gemmy) 400w and 1000w foggers, the top amber power light lights up on the timer (see image below), but none of the buttons work. I read in that other thread above that you can switch some wires around inside the fog timer, but I don't know which is which. Can anyone help me out?

Below is a picture of the timer. Note the big orange light that indicates the timer is properly connected does light up, but the lights around the buttons (including the necessary red power button) do not ever light up or work when the buttons are depressed.

Below is a picture of the inside of the timer. Which wires should I reverse? Is black ground?

Might be using the lite/fx system see link hope this is what you need.

Awesome namrog. Thanks for the link. However, I did end up switching the green and white wires as instructed in the how-to, but the darn thing still won't work. With the wires switched around I now get correct lighting from all of the buttons on the fogger. Which is good, but pressing the green fog button doesn't activate the fogger as it should (even though the green light correctly lights up on the timer when I push the button. I don't know what else I can do at this point since I already obviously switched the correct wires and the black wire is ground. So it might just be that the timer just is too old to work with my newer machine, even though it's just three wires. Anyone have any other theories? I doubt the black wire needed to be switched since the fog timer now displays the lights over the buttons correctly (including the red "power" heater status indicator)
