I have this prop that is damaged I wanted to know will sandpaper work 150 grit, fine sandpaper? I tried 150, medium sandpaper and the texture is rough and grainy any help would be appreciated. It is rigid urethane foam, its a gag studios prop if anyone is familiar with those props.

Hmmm Perhaps you are going about it the wrong way.

Where is the damage?

Is it painted?

Instead of sanding; perhaps you could fill the pitted areas rather than sand.

You are going to need a test section to work on and a selection of filler material.

Perhaps the putty every uses on their tombstones or a liquid urethane that can be brushed on. Whatever it is it must be able to be sanded, painted and not have an acetone in it. This is why you need to have a test section to experiment on.

Just an errant thought.....
