Ok here it is finally. After a few weeks of frustration and having to walk away from it several times I figured it out. Everything i seen online for converting a compaq power supply seemed that noone could get it to turn on and work like a standard ATX power supply. Took me a while but finally figured out how to trick out the priority circuitry that compaq has in place. Hoping this might help alot of people but who knows. Like the video will tell you I paid $3.95 for the power supplies on MPJA.com and $1.25 for the resistor and maybe a dollar for the connector. so for less than $6 I have several power supplies now. Here is the link to my how to video.

Ok even with the 3V lines hooked up the speeds are too fast. So i have ordered some 12V Dimmer Switches for LED lights. This after talking to some of the electrical engineers at work. Basically it is a PWM speed controller that only cost me $4 and will work great.
