How much light will shine thru morph mask?

Anyone who knows me knows I'm all about props. I'm cool being the guy behind the scenes. I've never been a big costume person. But it seems moreso every year we keep getting invited to costume parties. So we're thinking we might add one or two into our annual tradition just for fun. So I had this idea of going as a reaper, with some glowing uv contacts and a black morph mask over my entire head. But will the contacts be at all visible thru the mask? Funds are kind of tight this year so I really don't want to blow a bunch of money on a setup that won't work at all.

Anyone?

Highly doubt it. Be better off painting your face black I would think.
First off, If you don't get a very tight mask. It'll be hard to see..
Second, no one will be able to see you through the mask unless its really tight against your face..

about 7-8 years ago I had this Grim Reaper costume, It had a hood with a mesh over the front. And it had eyes that would fade in and out. Those eyes were just some LED's hooked up to a battery pack on these glasses. So the "eyes" of the grim reaper were actually bellow my real eyes, with a slot cut out directly in front of your eyes so you can see normally. This wouldn't work for a morph mask but it's something to consider.
HowlingMadMurdock I stopped by the Spirit store yesterday and saw that exact type of costume, but it definitely left a lot to be desired in terms of "authenticity". It just gave that simple mass produced, cheapie Halloween store bought vibe. Although it did get me thinking maybe I could do something similar with a "demon eyes" - type of app on my phone and have the phone mounted just above my own eyes. I would want the reaper to be tall and menacing, and I'm only 5'9" so I was already thinking platform shoes and shoulder pads, etc so raising the eyes a bit would actually help even out the height scale. Then again, the cheese factor is higher than the uv contacts idea...

That costume was before my time of making my own costumes. so yes, very cheap and pathetic. But I guess for one night it doesn't have to hold up all that well. *shrug*

I was also thinking of another thing.. You could always make your own latex mask.. Get a friend to make a life cast of your head and just make the exterior smooth, cut out some eye holes and either cut out the mouth or leave it closed. just make sure you can breathe! It's a bit of work though.
