Other half is not interested in Halloween except for the parties. He thinks its silly that I am so obsessed, but he sure doesn't complain when I have tons of awesome props he can hear people talk about on the big night.

I'm sorry your having a bad day hun! Hey but that's why we have this site to turn to anytime through the year 365 days a year Halloween all the time. I live in Florida so i know about not having seasons. but you make the most of it. Don't let your hubby ruin or take the fun out of something you love to do!
Thanks, ((runswithvampires)).

I practically had to sell my soul to get my wife to do the costume thing 7 years ago... but she quickly grew into it after the parties became a big hit, and saw how much fun it could be.

I'm the concept guy, the prop builder etc... she's very into going all out on the inside and cooking cool treats. She must have a dozen HW recipe books.

But she doesn't post here, nor do I know if she even ever takes a peek.

I am lucky that I am married to a fellow halloween fanatic!! We both plan all year long, and work on props together. It is my kids favorite holiday as well!! My son, who is non-verbal and autistic, is obessed with pumpkins, he loves to carry them around all year long. My husband does not post on here, but he does read the posts from time to time.

we don't have a joint account, per se...its kinda dedicated to our haunt, but registered to me and I'm the only one who ever really gets on here. She does love to hear the comments we get on things, though, and she did get on here too "steal" Terra's flicker PVC candle tutorial.

She deals more with the artistic stuff and she is a meeting/wedding planner, so she handles all the party details and hand-makes different invitations every year and all that...she was excited to learn to do a little wiring all by herself for the candle project this year! This will be our fourth year haunting together, and I find that when I sometimes lose the spirit she's always there bugging me to "let's put the fence up!" or "let's go take the hearse for a ride!" and that helps get me back in the mood.

All my Ex wife ever did was dress up and hand out candy. She helped with absolutely nothing and we never had a Halloween party or anything. Missy, on the other hand, begged to have a party as soon as we had our own house...I didn't put up much of a fight. ;)

My husband is supportive of my addiction, thankfully. He's not a halloweenie like me but at least respects my love and hard work. Plus he pretty much goes along with all of my hair brained costumes.

I am the only one with an account on here, but my wife listens to me read some of the more humorous thread replys. She does most of the party planning and is a great help when I need a costume for a prop. She made the cape and shirt for my headless horseman last year. I do the planning and physical work on the props and she makes sure that the lighting is working every night while I am at work. So I guess it's about fifty fifty.

I'm sorry to read that you're having a bad day. Sending happy thoughts your way... :)

No. I wish.

I am actually a little depressed about this tonight. I was saying something to the kids about Halloween and he said he had a "slight concern" that I "wait all day for one year" so it must be disappointing afterward.

I tried to explain to him that it's a season--or WAS, before I moved here, where there ARE no seasons. I guess I'm just not supposed to be happy here at all...not even once a year.

Sorry. Bad day.

I'm the one that has the Halloween forum obsession. My hubby loves Halloween (heck, we got married on Halloween!) but he's not into forums and the like. He loves looking at the props and ideas that I show him from here and the other forums, tho.

I am the one that comes up with the ideas, works on the arty/creative stuff and the like. He does the heavy lifting, power tools, helps with setup and other types of grunt work. I really couldn't do what I do without him working with me and putting up with the house looking like a disaster zone while I'm working on stuff.

He does try to come up with prop stuff sometimes, but he says that I come up with so many, that he doesn't see the point of thinking too much about it since I have that covered.

I have loved Halloween ever since moving to the states as a teenager. We didn't have Halloween where I was from. My partner likes Halloween some, enough to let me be all nutz that time of year with preparations and what not. I will continue to work on converting her... already started show and tell about the forum nonstop and have started projects. So i'll see!

My scenario is almost a carbon copy of Frankie's girl...though I did just get my other half to finally register as a member on this forum yesterday (Lord of Chamberwell Manor).

I do all the planning and sketching and web surfing to come up with ideas for our haunt and then rely on my hubby for most of the building, set up, and grunt work. I'm the one who handles all things involving foam or paint, though! I also do the invitations, party planning, etc. and thankfully he also shares my passion enough to let me stretch the budget...thank you "Lord". LOL

My boyfriend is very much into Halloween as well. We are both inwardly goth but don't show it on the outside too much. But for Halloween, we go nuts. He is right there with me going shopping and decorating inside and out and planning for the party. Well, maybe not so much for the party because I tend to obsess over that. :p He likes to hear about what I read on the forum, but he doesn't have an account or the time to read, he is a workaholic, he's a software engineer. Hopefully he gets enough time to build a few props this year though.
