Hello everyone,

I set up a graveyard scene last year but with my house in the background it really took away from the whole effect.

I tried to hide the house with lighting, trying to keep the house dark and all the stuff in the foreground lit, but still didnt get what I wanted.

So this year I really wanted to focus the attn away from the house and I started work on a facade of an old wooden house to place in front of my house to hide it.

Figured Id share some photos. My wood siding was delivered yesterday so I plan on working on it this weekend but heres the wood frame I got done last weekend.

Everything is 4x8 panels that bolt together so I can take the whole thing down easily and store in a 4foot x 8foot stack.

The large window on the left is where my screen for my projector will go. Ill have Mark Gervais's "Hallowindow 2009" playing.

Looking awesome so far. Question, what are the red and black spray marks for? My comment to you is, how do you get your grass so nice looking, I'm envious.

Wow indeva that is awesome. What a great project. What type of siding are you going to put on it? Will it be wood or styraphome? Did you use 2x2s? I'm making a facade of a morgue on my porch this year. Can you show a close up picture of your bolts and how you can take it apart each year? I can't wait to see more photos.

I built the sections in my garage and assm it in the back yard. I used the black and red paint to help me remember which way each piece faces.

The grass, well, lots of water and the Arizona sun does the rest.

Im using wood siding. Heres what im using.

Yes, 2x2 and just a 4'' bolt at the top, middle and bottom to hold the panels together.

Very cool. I like it and your back yard too. What type of grass, bermuda?

Where did you get your wood from? I'm building a facade as well and re-doing my walls inside the haunt this year in front of the garage and I need to find some decent straight wood for the frames.

I know this is about your structure, but you have a very nicely manicured lawn, my friend...nice grass. Oh, and the facade is going to be awesome...

You've got to post pics with it in your front yard finished! Awesome! My neighbors would forsure confirm my craziness for doing something like that! Have you had any comments from your neighbors?

Thank you all for the comments on the lawn (Yes bermuda)! I do try and keep it looking good. Makes spending time in the backyard more enjoyable.

Ill keep posting photos as I move along. Tomorrow i should get some work done on it.

So far no one has said anything but Im sure the people behind are wondering what the heck im doing. Most people wouldn't put this and halloween together being thats its only June.

I dont have many photos of everything set up from last year, sadly it seems as the big day gets closer I forget to take pictures. Here is an early october pic right after we set up the fence.

That's nothing, you've got to think bigger! Just kidding. That's an awesome project. Just make sure before you set it up that your neighbors know that the drop in local property values will only be temporary.

Those in other parts of the country might not appreciate your dedication to such a big outdoor project at this particular time. That Arizona sun that is making the grass so green has brought higher temperatures with it. A daily low of 100 degrees will be a thing of the past until Halloween.

It's a great idea. Building a facade for the front of the house is a great way to add a lot of character and mood.

The framing looks great, can't wait to see the siding go up.

All I can say to those three is WOW! very cool!

Okay I got some work done today. I started work on the "peak" of the house.

Everything is no bigger than 4x8 so i should be able to have one neat stack approx 4 feet hight of panels. Thats why the peak is in three sections(also easier to lift into place).
