it's the movie I have to watch every year to start the Holiday Season.

We are watching it tonight--kid request. I have trained my padawans well. :)

So can we post our favorite moments from the movie just for fun?

I LOVE it when the sisters get off the bus and all the kids are running round in their costumes and the angel says 'Bless you' and all the sisters scream in horror. LOLOL

My favorites are the classroom scene when the teacher is recounting the story of the Sanderson sisters and the trick or treating scene. Usually my first viewing of the season is Labor Day Weekend, but I may have to watch earlier. Enjoy!
I like the beginning scene in the 1600s where the sister is being taken... creepy.

Great movie, just enough mix of dark vs family friendly.

If they made it today, I bet they would make it way too silly.

Uhh Danny don't look up... Great scene in the crypt!
The whole movie is awesome, a total Halloween classic. I'm sure in years to come when someone else writes another History of Halloween book, that Hocus Pocus will be listed as a movie that helped to define the holiday's roots in America for a new generation.

One of my favorite parts of the movie, though, would have to be when they are in the house with the guy dressed up as the Devil and they are calling him "Master" and then his wife comes out and they think she is Medusa because of the curlers. Another would be after they arrive, and think the road is a river. There are so many good parts to the movie, not to mention the great use of decorations in the backgrounds. Really makes you wish that all towns decorated like that still.

However, i wanna know how Mary knew about margarine when she smelled scrod. ???? They didn't have margarine in 1693.

I also love when Winnie walks into the modern ktichen and exlaims with glee at having found 'a torture chamber!!'

Hocus Pocus is one of my all time fave movies, and my Halloween isn't complete if I haven't watched it, at least, once!

Pick my favorite scenes?! I don't think I can narrow it down, lol, I love so much about the movie! I will agree with the majority, though, that the start of the movie with the flashback of Thackery and his sister...and the school scene and then later, all the ToT scenes including inside and outside of Allison's house, are some of my faves simply because the settings are wonderful and really get me in the spirit of the season!! Yes, the singing parts always make me sign along..."I Put A Spell On You" and "Come Little Children"...gotta love those parts! ! I also love when the sisters say the spell to turn Thackery Binx into a cat..."Give him fur black as black..just...like...thissssss...." Oh, and when Max tells Binx he is a Denison, now, and to go home with them and Binx sighs and say..."Home"...love! Then Dani tells Binx he will have tuna and milk everyday and Binx says he will become a fat, contented house cat...then he purrs while they sleep...oh, Basically, any part with Binx is my fave, hahaha!

Wait...there are two scenes that crush my soul, though, that have Binx...when he is first turned into a cat and his father kicks him away while he cries and rubs against his legs...and when he hits the gravestone at the end and dies. I cannot handle those two scenes, I cry, I cry a lot, lol. I sob like a big baby, too, when Thackery's ghost comes back to say goodbye to Dani and he finally sees his little sister, again!

(Oh, and if we are going to bring up oddly time period inaccurate parts like the margarine thing...what about Winnie telling Max to pull over and let her see his drivers permit?? She shouldn't know what that is, lol.)

I could go on and on with my favorite parts!!
