When our kids were young, we did a neighborhood Halloween party featuring a haunted hay ride in the woods behind our houses. It was very cool but alot of work with generators, wiring, lights, etc.

I plan on restarting the party but will host this one, the hay ride will be next door with a derelict "Adams Family House" as the setting. I lean toward skits over drive by scares as they consume more time. I find the local commercial mazes to be frustrating as they are over so quickly, once I spent $80 for 5 minutes of entertainment.

From the old days, my "Green Mile Electrocution" prop was my personal favorite. It had a light bulb that dimmed, a phone in case the Governor called (the call was from Geico instead) and a fogger which created the illusion of his head being on fire. Too bad I gave it to an inner city haunted house.

So once again, Hi everyone!

Hi MadMark285 , i did an electrocution chair prop as well , it was probably the most talked about prop i have made , but hey why not try re building it for this Halloween ? there's still time i used a jigsaw attachment on mine to get the convulsions and plastic pipe arms and frame padded out with an orange boiler suit to cover , and put my michael myers mask on it so the kids could flip the switch and execute a serial killer ? anyway WELCOME to the forum from England in the U.K.

Welcome to the forum! I totally agree, the commercial mazes are costly and over before you know it. I think the more neighbors you can rope in on your haunt, the better the “ride” will be (I saw something similar on a TV show but it was a Christmas thing). You should be able to get some good ideas in the forums though!

Thanks Pacman, using a jigsaw is a great idea as I have a few old one in my shop.

For my reboot of the haunted hay ride, I'm doing a Dracula theme with insane Johnthan Harker locked up behind electrified bars. The guest will be told, we must be very quiet so we don't wake him up as the electric is turned off. Of course the driver's cell phone goes off and wakes up Mr. Harker. When the switch is turn on, the fogger turns on and smoke out of Mr Harker hands and body as he being electrified while holding the bars.

I found the perfect stobe light with an electric sound effect but you can't select a specific sound effect. FrightProps does sell a short circuit light bulb which may work.

Anyway, thanks for the reply
