(Solved) Help!! Fourbanger no sound? (Solved)

I am near the end of building a monster in a box which is being controlled by an Uno.
I have wired it up as per the diagram below and can successfully program the board to work the actuator and strobe but not the audio.
I go through all the audio steps and save it out to SD card and place it in the Uno\mp3 board, no sound yet the rest of the actions happen?

The mp3 board I am using is a SODIAL(R) YX5300 UART Control Serial MP3 Music Player Module for Arduino/AVR/ARM/PIC

Is there an alternative wiring for this?

Just spit balling here but are the Uno and the mp3 player set for the same baud rate?

If it's any help it looks like I am using a UNO clone with a CH340G chip.


It's so frustrating as I want to move on to my next Halloween project but my head won't let this go until I have this worked out!

I looked up the specs on that mp3 player and it's 9600 baud. I'm not an Arduino guy but I can tell you for serial control, your program code has to include a command that sets the controller to 9600 baud.

I have a feeling you are on the right track but I find it strange how no one else has posted this issue before as all the items are on the shopping list on the Four Banger site.?
I am using the Four banger software which isn't really editable, unless you mean the Uno's firmware?
Even then I would need to be told how to do it step by step. :/

No, it's not the firmware. The Arduino has to be told what baud rate to send the serial commands. It would be in the program. If all of the hardware is listed on the site, then the baud rate probably isn't the issue.

Oh my days!!!
I wasted a day trying to figure this thing out!

Guess what the problem was.........I had formatted the SD card to NTSF when it should have been FAT32.

Geezzz, you live and learn I suppose.
