sign me up! can't wait!
I agree with you 100%I'm really looking forward to the secret reaper.
I read your latest reply and just wanted to express my opinion. As far as matching people together with like individuals I'm not sure that this is the best way to go. I do agree that we should clarify our likes and dislikes, but I'm not sure that gore people should be matched with gore people etc. I think it could be more interesting for the giver and the recipiant to be of differant style. I know just because I may not have a gore theme haunt that I could still take interest in purchasing this type of item. Not only could I take interest, but also may be able to shed a differant light on the recipient not to mention I myself may gain a new appreciation for something differant. As far as matching people from the same country this seems to loose some appeal, I know for myself being from Canada I would appreciate the perspective of a fellow haunter from another country, not to mention possibly the diiferant pieces that may be availabe to them. My take on what I'm hearing from members from places in Europe are that props and decorations are limited, which leads me to think that these members would probably really appreciate recieving something from a country that has an abundance of decorations. Members from Europe may be inclined to make something themselves, or purchase online from a retailer for example in the States for someone in the States, which could be shipped directly from the supplier to the recipiant and save on shipping cost.
Just out of curiosity what is usually the budget?
The way it worked in the past was that everyone participating posted their likes and dislikes in a seperate thread and also stated if they were willing or unwilling to ship to europe or canada. Then the person organizing matched up people.the gifts are 20 dollars, a buck one way or the other is ok, but basically 20 dollars.
I guess I didn't explain well, which is a bad habit of my, (drives hubby crazy), I am not matching gore with gore, etc, , but I do want every ones likes and dislikes, to help out with ideas of what to get your "victim". The europe/canada thing is only because I have been asked about it by other members, if every one is willing to send the gifts any where, it is fine with me, it is just the cost is so high. So if no one minds the cost, it is fine with me. Let me know what you all think!
That is seriously awesome, UnOrthodOx.We had a special situation last year, in that the person running it, unfortunately, passed away. That's a main reason for the disconnect with getting people gifts on time/at all.
As with last year, while I'm not interested in participating outright (we prefer to craft all our own stuff, nothing against anyone), I will create 3 packages of our home-made goodies to offer up to the "in case someone don't get a gift" emergency fund. If the need arises, just PM me the info, and I'll swift one away.
No, it didn't happen last year. (at least I never got addresses to send to folks) Herman passed away, and no one ever really got the full handle on the organization after that.but i heard several offered to send to those if they didn't receive. so did this happen?
