Photos from our annual yard haunt display are up on Flickr:

Thank you so much for "getting" our haunt theme. We had mulled the idea of doing a Frankenstein themed haunt for years but felt that it would be too difficult (and costly) to convey that specific of a theme, but instead decided "What if we do vignettes of various classic monsters instead?" Sadly we think a lot of what we were going for in the theme was lost on the trick-or-treaters and even a good chunk of the parents. They pretty much just saw it as a bunch of different Halloween monster props and missed the context of the haunt. Just a different era we grew up in. Those moviegoer skeletons were a labor of love, drilling and installing battery powered LED lights and vintage guitar amp style jewel light covers over the LED lights to diffuse the light and make the old style red/blue 3D glasses really pop at night. And precisely why we made the Creature their focal point.Love monster classics! Grew up with all of them. Sadly kids today do not have that same experience (like watching on b&w TVs and in movie theaters). Lol over the 3-D movie goers there. I know Creature From The Black Lagoon was produced as a 3-D movie. Very nice set up and lighting. I liked how the green uplighting reflected on your house siding—interesting look. You made great use of your space. Thanks for sharing. Viewing After Halloween haunt photos and videos are the next best thing to Halloween night!
