Hey folks,

It's Mark here from Hallowindow. I just thought I'd let you know that I've started a mailing list for Hallowindow 2009. Today I sent out a mail to the people on my list so far, so if you didn't receive one please email me and request to be put on the list.

hey folks, Just want to clear something up. I do not have a video or tutorial of a DIY fog screen. I've actually never built one and you might be getting me confused with someone else. Here is a link to a video of a fog screen set up from last year.

maybe this is what you are referring to.

Mark,
Sorry for starting this rumor with what appears to be poor information.
I thought for sure that I seen this on the Hallowindow Facebook page.
Did you have a link there at one time?

THE VIDEO THAT YOU LINKED TO IS THE SAME VIDEO THAT I WAS REFERRING TO.
Also, here is the photo link for the same project.

Sorry everyonefor the confusion.
Rear projection screen? Apparently Wax paper is the way to go. Who knew?

Received mine today! Amazing stuff as usual! Love the Easter eggs too!
I dont have Hallowindow 3. But I did get to see some of it at my local amusement park! Turns out they used it for part of their "Frightmares" setup. It was setup in the window of the old opera house, and it looked, and sounded great. I was able to watch it as I waited in line for one of their haunted houses. They had it playing random clips from all of the Hallowindows. Not sure if thats a new feature with the 3rd one or if they mixed it themselves. Im going to do something similar with the first and second ones. Congrats Mark! I thought it was really cool that a big amusement park like that wanted to use your great animations for their park. Sorry for the crappy pic, it was my camera phone.

Got mine in the mail yesterday and loved it! Couple questions...

1)Is there a way to get all three versions onto one disc?

2)What are the easter eggs on the third disc? I can't seem to find them! (Or am I just stupid)

Wow! I had no idea a big amusement park was using it in their haunted house. pretty cool I guess.

coasterbp: There is no way to get all versions onto one disc. About the only option is ripping the videos out of Hallowindow I & II and combining them with the video file from Hallowindow III using video editing software.

The easter eggs are in the Extras menu. try going left and right.
Found them, thanks!

I'll look into ripping I & II today to make my MegaHalloWindow.... Now if only the damn projector would arrive!! I WANT TO PLAY!
I used Convert X to Dvd to get all the videos on to one long looping dvd. Convert X is a great program does all the video formats I throw at it with no problem. On the new DVD mark put the PC video files in a seperate folder but on the first one they are in the .vob DVD format you can use players like VLC to play these I just copied mine and renamed to what they actually are.

I am having issues trying to get it to display the way I want in my window because my window is square 60"x60" I either have to cut off the sides of make the image smaller and it doesn't fill the whole window. I need to look into Convert X settings to see if I can adjust the ratio to 1:1 then it will fill the whole window.
I finally got mine the other day. I really love the "Trick or Treat" sign. I am having trouble hearing/understanding the green witch/ghoul. The voice seems to be drowned out by the other sounds and music. Anybody else have this problem ?

I just assumed she was saying jibberish, kind of under her breath spellcasting sort of stuff.

There is one part that I can make out where it says "that's what I thought". So I think she/he/it is actually saying something. Does anybody know a way to enhance the voice ?
Pic of the shower curtain...

Hi, I remember looking through this hallowindow forum and finding a pic of the shower curtain used...does that pic still exist? Is the shower curtain better than a plain ole sheet...This is my first year doing this and I was wondering the best method from experienced hallowindow users!! Thank you very much :)

I don't know about the shower curtain but this is how it looks with a plain old white sheet:

I'm using one of those frosted shower curtain liners, works great if you stretch the edges with tape, as they usually come folded and a bit wrinkly

I think that was me. The WalMart white vinyl shower curtain. The CHEAP one. Should be about $3. I needed two for the size of my window (just used clear packing tape to attach the two together):

Definitely use the shower curtain. I did a side by side test with a shower curtain versus white cotton, canvas, etc. and the shower curtain had the best colors and brightness -- your mileage may vary.
