Hey Laura! Welcome to the forums. We're just starting to consider the idea of projections here ourselves - looks like fun.

If you could post the make and model of the projector, I'm sure someone here could help you out. Recent projectors can use all kinds of input devices so it'd be handy to know what kind of projector you have.
Well you can't play a DVD on a vcr. Haha. All kidding aside, it all depends what output you have on your DVD player and what inputs you have on your projector. Make and model of each (player and projector) and/or a photo of the input/output area will take away any guess work.

The most common outputs would be composite. this would be a yellow video out, with a white and red for audio out. Standard rca cables work here. You would hook them up to the inputs of matching colors on the projector.

Next would be component. Colors consist of green/blue/red for video with white and red additional audio.

Then there is hdmi. One cable outputs audio and video.

Absolutely. Again, knowing what you have would take out the guessing as to which, but I edited my post explaining a few output/input types.

I tried the colored plugs before and didn't work so Ill try the hdmi cable and see if that works thanks:D
Can you take a pic of the back of both units and post/link here?

As mentioned, pictures and model #'s are worth a thousand words. Some projectors you need to pick which input you are using in the menu. Some are auto sensing.

If I want to add an attachment or show you a picture from my gallery on my phone how would I do that?

When you are typing a post, there's a tool bar just above. The third icon from the right is for adding images. Click that icon and then add your pics.

I don't think that the mobile app supports that toolbar, if you're using it, though. I deleted the app because I didn't have the toolbar. I have to get there via bookmark, and then go to the bottom of the page to click "View full website", or something similar, to get the toolbar when I'm on my phone.

I only use my mobile device to come here, and I find it is also much easier to navigate using the "view full site" option.
