Can't wait to see what Halloween magazines will be out this year!!! Crossing fingers that they are good! :)
I LOVE Halloween Magazines! I have all the Better Homes and Gardens, Womens Day, Martha Stewart, Country Living etc. If it has a pumpkin on it, I usually buy it! I have them all stored on my bookshelf and I like to go back and read them. I have a lot of Halloween books too- How to Haunt your House by the Mitchells. They have a book #4 out now. Halloween food, Michael Meede etc. It's an obsession but I don't care., I love it!!!

Ack! How did I NOT know there was another How to Haunt Your House book? I love them... Also, how is Sandra Lee's magazine this year? Last year's I think was a halfie, a flip-it-upside-down thing, and only a few pages of really boring Halloween stuff. She has had a few great issues in the past for Halloween, just not 2014.

Yay! Found the thread. The Sandra Lee magazine isn't bad...it's more about cocktails and desserts with some actual appetizer and meal recipes, though the more meal recipes are in the Fall Fare with Flair half. I was saying that I so miss the Martha Stewart Halloween magazines for decorating ideas. I have found BHG has good decorating ideas, but does anybody have a particularly favourite magazine for decorating? Not for nothing, but in recent years I've grown a liking for Pinterest since Martha went away :/.

They stopped making them? I have a subscription to Marthas living magazine (I get them for free) and last year I got one for Halloween.

Oh my gosh! I *love* the link that RCIAG posted & the head's up about the Baxter skeletons! I've never seen them - the Thanksgiving pose where they are both holding up giant turkey legs is HYSTERICAL! LOL! Love that!

I know this is a magazine thread, but can anyone tell me more about the books that were mentioned earlier "How to Haunt Your House", I think was the name of the series. Is it a detailed series, worthwhile for newbies & old-hats alike?

I think the newer style Martha Halloween magazines have been just a shadow of what they used to be. I think now it's just a regular October issue with some Halloween stuff thrown in, but I remember that years ago their used to be a Halloween special magazine that was PACKED full of costume, food & decorating ideas. I don't have cable, so the Halloween decorating magazines were always a big deal for me. Even now with Pinterest & the internet, I still love a good magazine.

Yep. She does a "fall" one maybe, but it's definitely not entirely Halloween like it used to be.

I'd never heard of those Baxter skellys either. They have Facebook & Instagram pages too which I bookmarked for the season.
is it just me or do the mags all just sort of re=hash things ovr an over? i'd love to see some fresh ideas!

Yea most of the food especially never change at all. The cover will change and they move things to different pages but most to all are the same thing from year to year
I agree, I'd love to see a magazine with something new. They've been recycling the same stuff for the last 10 years or so.
