Halloween in Finland

I have been busy doing all the halloween stuff for my party, so yesterday i started my dolls makeovers and i painted a "scary" doll with my 4 year old girl and when it was finished i send i on my fb page. I havent send any pics of my halloween project cause i want it to be a suprise to my guests.

So the comments were like " yyh, you are crazy" "how can you do that" "it is awful, i wouldnt even sleep in the same house with that" "should we be worried about yoy" and on....:D

Gladly i like doing everything cause i started wondering that my guests wont be on the same page that i am. Well maybe my path is the show the way....:p

well, you'll fit right in here.
Oh cool, I'm not the only Hallowe'en nut from here! Greetings from Jyväskylä! :D
I'm also frightening all the normal people around the neighborhood by decorating and bringing strange stuff around. Children of our building are always excited to see me though. x)
It's a bummer when people are so discriminating against Hallowe'en and scary stuff in this country, they say it's childish and stupid and shallow. I always reply by something about boring people with no imagination. :D

interesting observation with respect to "boring people with no imagination" ... you might be on to something

although, i must admit that i'm kind of boring ... and well, i do tend to "think out of the box" and see things "differently/in a different way" then most, so i guess you could say i have an imagination, but naturally its a far cry from when i was a child ... but even then i knew that if there were monsters under my bed and if they wanted me i was history ... but pulling the sheets over my head did give me some comfort ... but i guess seeing things in a different way is a different kind of imagination ... and i do remember how much fun it was when i was a child, so i do try to recreate some of that wonder in my yard haunt ... at least those with imagination seem to like it ... the older/boring citizens in my neighborhood, those lacking imagination, aren't so impressed with my creations and imagination ...

is it me, or does it seems that as we age we lose imagination and gain logic/knowledge/experience ... ?

ok, looks like i've gone off on another of my "rants" ... :) ... time to stop

amk

How big is Halloween in Finland? Do you see a lot of tot'ers turning out for the big night?
Hehe, we don't see ANY ToT:ers in here, because we don't celebrate Hallowe'en at all. Except for us few nutters. :)

That's too bad. You'll have to employ some of that famous Finnish intellect...maybe it'll catch on;)
