Hey fellow haunters. We just moved to a new house on an acerage this year for our Scare Away Cancer Haunt. With all the new space we have we need some really good ideas to make it super scary. We have a rather large vegetable garden that I would like to do something with, but I am looking for some ideas. What have you done in the past to decorate this? Graveyard or something? Any pics or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! Well, you really can do anything at Halloween, so the skies the limit! Are you looking to have your veggie garden area different from your yard, or are you doing your yard & veggie garden area the same or want to coordinate them? I'm not sure from your post whether this is the only area you are decorating, or if you are looking for specific ideas for a farm-inspired kind of haunt.

If this were me, I'd probably capitalize on the garden theme & try my hand at making some pumpkin statues - there are some fabulous ones here, as well as the internet page from Pumpkin Rot that has phenomenal inspiration. And I'd probably add some plant monsters & man-eating plants, and eyeball plants, and other carnivorous plants with a creepy feel. You can put any of these search words into the forums here, as well as pinterest & you'll see some great photos & tutorials. And you could also never go wrong with scary scarecrows!

Here's some great threads to give you inspiration -

In recent years they have some pretty cool traditional lawn ornaments turned spooky. Something like these would look cool in a garden.
