Halloween Forum is a really unique place and we want to keep it a friendly, awesome site for Halloween enthusiasts, home haunters and professional haunters alike. So that being said, the time has come to put out a call for a few good members to step up and help keep the forum clean and tidy.

What will be expected from a moderator?
It is a moderator’s duty to make sure that our site stays as clean, easy to navigate and friendly as possible. Unfortunately, every once in awhile, we get spammers, people who attempt to cause problems, or just lots of confusing stuff that we need to untangle, edit or move to the right places. Moderators make sure our forum rules are followed and help make this a better place for all.

Basic Duties include:
• Remove spam
• Move threads/posts to appropriate category
• Help resolve issues with members
• Promote a positive atmosphere

Requirements:
• U.S. or Canadian citizen that is 18 or older
• Minimum of 250 posts and have been a member for at least 1 year
• No infractions or warnings
• Have time to devote to moderation
• Highly proficient in reading and writing English
• Have regular access to computer (not just mobile device or tablet)
• Must work well as part of a team
• Good eye for detail
• Honesty and integrity
• Good eye for detail (lol)
• Ability to learn technical tasks quickly
• Good judgment with the ability to stay calm, neutral and diplomatic
• Agree to confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement
• Understand all forum rules and will uphold them to your best ability

Instructions (How to Apply):
Cut & Paste the application questions below with all answers completed and send as an email to UnOrthodOx at: [email protected]. PLEASE make sure to title the subject line: HALLOWEEN FORUM MOD POSITION. Please also be sure to send a PM to UnOrthodOx, as well to alert us to the application submission.

These positions are 100% volunteer and sometimes you’ll have to deal with some unsavory aspects (like hostile spammers or upset members). You should only apply if you feel like you can deal with the difficult things as well as the easy.

While we are honored to have any HF member apply to be a moderator of this forum, please understand that not every applicant may be chosen for the moderator team. When we review candidates, we will be looking at many factors including the following: honesty, personality fit, maturity, loyalty, enthusiasm, dedication, technical expertise, and actual time and ability to deal with forum issues.

There are likely some perfectly lovely folks that may not be a great fit as a mod, and there is also a chance that we will receive more applicants than we have moderator openings, so we do hope that everyone that applies understands this and does not take any rejection personally.

If you have any questions AT ALL, feel free to send me a private message or pose a question here. I will be happy to assist.

Thank you!

The Halloween Moderator Team

Thanks so much to all that have applied so far! We've gotten some great applicants to consider. :)

We are leaving the submission time open until this coming Friday (10/6), with the review process hopefully to be completed by early the following week.

Will make an announcement on the forum as soon as we can - and look forward to onboarding some wonderful new moderators in the near future. :)
