I was pretty frazzled this year trying to deal with TOT's and manage a party at the same time, so I think it will be nice to have your parties over the weekend and then be able to dress up and focus on regular trick or treating on the weekday.

Big "Halloween" parade on Halloween night, most trick or treaters go the night before. Between the kids going to the parade and getting candy thrown at them by political floats, especially next year and trunk or treat, kids don't have to do any leg work anymore. Get their bags of candy, go back home and play video games, watch tv or glued to their iphones. And we wonder why kids are...ok rant over.

I think it's a good thing for the reasons everyone has already stated, on weekends there's other things going on, parties, pro haunts, but on weekdays there's school & work the next day so there's only room for one thing & that's ToTing.

I'm not overly thrilled lol. I'm into throwing lavish parties and although I know I can still throw them on the weekend, something about having a huge party the night of just makes it that much more special. Halloween was on a Monday 4 years ago I believe and I wasn't too happy with how everything turned out. We only had half the crowd that we did the previous 2 weekends and nobody stayed too long as the kids and parents had school and work the next day. If I had my way, it would land on a Friday or Saturday every year lol

I personally wouldn't mind Halloween to fall on the last Saturday of the month every year .. However, I was stunned that I only had half of the ToT's than I did last year.

If it takes a Monday to get more kids to my place, then so be it

It's not just about the ToTs, it's about the setup and tear-down. Being a football fan, Saturdays are the worst because you're doing last minute set-up and trying to watch your teams games, then SUnday teardown is hosed because your NFL teams are playing. Monday night football is during the same hours as ToTing, so it doesn't impact set up or tear down.

Halloween night has always been slow here for all the previously mentioned reasons.
Years ago we decided to offer a "Ghost Seekers Night",but sitting hours away from their homes waiting for something to possibly happen at 2AM (or later) We found was not very popular with those who work the day-shift,unless it was a night before a day they did not have to work so a week night date made for poor attendance.
Did anyone ever see any results here ghost hunting?
Yes,some did.
A few times something would happen just as their batteries were croaking. Excellent ghostly timing!

This discussion is interesting because my wife and I were lamenting how this years Halloween had hardly any trick or treating seemingly where typically we have a very active neighborhood. I guess there is just too much going on with Saturdays. I'm looking forward to it next year on a Monday as it will be my first garage haunt. I'll have all weekend to finish it up.

Well, for those that like your Halloween on a weekend you won't see another one until 2020 when it falls on a Saturday, then in 2021 it's on a Sunday. It falls on a weekday more often because 1)there's more of them, 2)the leap years mess things up often.
