Halloween 2016 is on a Monday: Good or Bad?

Thanks to leap year and the 29 days in February, Halloween is on a Monday. At first, I was bummed and felt bad about Sunday being skipped. But I kind of like a Monday Halloween. We will have two weekends to set-up within eight days. That sounds like some solid time even for a procrastinator like me.

I tend to get more tot's on a weeknight, so I think it will be better, plus I will take the day off from work!
It will be nice to have less competition at the after-halloween sales.

Will there be a Monday night NFL game?
This fall we saw almost no business on Friday nights because all the local football teams were having good to great successes.
We seem to get more TOTers on a weeknight too, so I'm looking forward to a Monday. We'll just have to make sure we request both Monday & Tuesday off for my DH *very* early to make sure he gets it.
I figure that means I have four good nights to enjoy my set up. It also means I'll probably be able to visit some haunted houses in the area over the weekend.
Very odd to have more ToTers on a weeknight. Personally, I was kind of bummed. We'll see...
Week nights do seem to be better. Saturday's have always been the worst with Halloween parties and haunted houses as competition.
I'm glad for a Monday. Sunday Halloweens get a bit tweaky with some people of the religious persuasion. We had a Sunday Halloween when we lived in MD, and the county we lived in moved it to Saturday and the next county over kept it on Sunday, which was great for the kids because they got to go trick or treating twice, but it was still a PITA to deal with the issues of changing an event like that.

I think its GREAT!! The TOT night is the day before Halloween where I live and the parade is always on Halloween night. That will give me 2 full days to get all of my final details and props outside and adjusted and working properly. Plus I wont have to leave work early since its on a Sunday! I am very excited.
Yep, I like Halloween on a Monday. Week-end before for set up or just to chill and gorge on Halloween movies. If we do a party next year we'll have a break before Halloween. This year with our party on Friday and Halloween Saturday, we were wiped out!
I couldn't believe Halloween will be on a Monday for 2016...wow.... I would rather see it on a Sunday but I can spend all Sat
and Sunday setting up the yard, so come Monday were ready to roll......

Yep, I remember sunday halloweens in the past some people lost their minds about having it on a holy day. For that reason alone I'm happy to have it on a Monday.

It can get crazy around here on a Sunday. Had one church host a Hell House for years, protesters pop up on street corners, Jack Chick tracks get passed out, and I'm just hanging out waiting for everyone to stop acting like a bunch lemmings jumping from a cliff. Not having it on a Sunday here is always better.
Monday Night? Perfect for tweaking your lighting and sound. Conflict with Monday Night Football, but, like they say, "C'Mon, Man!"

what at id like to know; will Daylight Savings be on Sunday, the 30th next year...

Monday Night Football lost its relevance when it went to cable only.
We get more TOTers when it is on a week night. Weekends and parents are more interested in getting ready for dance here.
Having the weekend before for final set up and rehearsal is great but Monday night will make our costume and make up time rather rushed. I have high schoolers helping in the haunt (who were great in 2015) but getting them to the haunt, fed, changed and with make up in about 2 hours is going to be tight, especially with me running around turning on props, lights, fog, etc.

Hope you all are right about more ToTs on weeknights, I'm more hoping for nice weather.
I find there's more trick or treaters on weeknights simply because you're not competing with the parties/dances etc. School dances will be on the friday before, people will hold their halloween parties on the friday or saturday night before, so when monday rolls around, it'll just be trick or treating left to do. IT is more of a rush, if I'm on the same shift I am currently, I'll be getting home with the kids about 20 after 5, and the toddlers and preschoolers show up here as early as 5:30, but such is life.
I say Good. Since I set up generally Halloween day, this gives me the weekend to be better prepared. The parents and kids can have their halloween parties during the weeknd leaving them free to go ToTing on Monday. While this year had a great turnout, I tend to think weekdays are higher attendance as the kids have less planned to do after school than on the weekend.
