Finally got our "Scarecrow" haunt video posted from this years haunt.:D
We had two static scarecrows spaced out on the bank of the makeshift cornfield,
and myself dresed in the third costume at the botttom waiting for the tots to round the corner.
If only my tape had the additional footage before it ran out... Need a back-up for 2014 !

We had a great time. We had a rough count of over 125 people coming through this year.
The word is starting to get out ! We combined with the neighbors this year for the cemetery haunt portion,
but only had video of the cornfield set-up.

I liked the part where the woman (assuming it was your wife) was telling you "do not scare them. I mean it", when that couple holding the young child walked through. I could see mine doing that as well.

Jdubbya,
The gal who warned me was actually a friend who was helping walk groups through. It got too be so many people that
they stopped waiting by the front and came on through anyway-oh well. My wife was manning the electric chair this year.
I decided instead of having two different props as in the past, I would combine the electric chair with the prison cage.
This allowed all the kids and adults to get their pictures taken while being electrified. Idea turned out great !

This is exactly what we're planning for next year on the outside before you enter the garage maze. I started picking up items on the cheap to fill out the area with static props along with costumes. We'd found where we could get hay bales and rent for the day, but it will be essential for us to find corn stalks. Not sure how we'll pull that off in SoCal.

this was a lot smaller than I'd expected, so I'll probably make another one using a deer/wiper motor for movement.

EvilEye,
The idea turned out great for us this year. I've been wanting to do this for the last couple of years and finally put it
into motion this year. One of the costume websites had the 90% off sale back in May or June and I jumped on these
Scarecrow costumes. They were originally around $50.00 but were reduced to $5.00. My wife kept wondering why I
need three of the same costumes. When I made the pvc armature and dressed the other two scarecrows up for the
night, well you saw the end result. I just wish I had the other hour+ of video before the tape ran out. The last hour or
so was some of the best!

Matrixmom,
The guy with the shorts on was actually my brother. He was using his iphone to get some video of his own.
I had already told him about the set-up. Hmmm, would have been better had I NOT told him about the set-up.
