just use cheap pine paint it. get a cheap wall clock for the time piece and plexiglass for the front. I got a good idea of what you want so just google grandfather clocks and pick one
I am thinking of making my own grandfather clock {cheapest possible way} for my haunt,anybody have any ideas or patterns,blueprints or know of any websites that do,thank you.

The actual prop didn't cost much to build...I paid more for paint than anything on the static part.....The electronics/pnuematics is where the money was....ZR

When in doubt, use a lower wattage bulb.
